I remember visiting this website once...
It was called 5SOS talk شائقین and saying 'f*** you' to conformity as they cover Notion Magazine in moody monochrome
Here's some stuff I remembered seeing:
Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes\'s new duet is too...
Kendall Jenner\'s been working casual chic to...
Commemorate Nicki Minaj\'s magical \'Miley, What\'s...
Did Becky G just throw some serious shade at...
Praise be to Notion Magazine because they\'ve done good by us all and got 5SOS on board for a stupidly edgy cover for their 70th issue.
From Luke\'s lip ring, Mikey\'s feather hair and Calum\'s finger clasping to Ashton\'s stupidly fit rockstar locks, this cover\'s got more going on than Stacey\'s mom could ever even dream of.
The band also had a chat with the mag and have dished a whole load of deets about new album
their boredom with the boyband label and what they actually want the new broken scene to really represent to you lot.
For some reason, the press release announcing this whole shebang doesn\'t actually tell you who said what part of the interview, so we\'re all just going to have to imagine all four of them saying exactly the same thing in unison like some sort of punk rock robot collective or we\'ll jus have to play a guessing game for each bit. You decide.
STILL, asked about the differences between the two albums, one member of 5SOS who is yet to be identified said: "With the first album we were 16 years old when we wrote it. But now we\'ve been on tour for four and a half years, we\'ve experienced stuff.
"We\'ve written about a lot of different things on this album because we\'re older and we\'ve experienced more of life, so we\'ve got more to talk about."
Chatting about the new broken scene and lead single \'She\'s Kinda Hot\', they add: "That song came about because everyone was naming their fan bases and we found it a little lame, in all honesty.
"There\'s more to our band, you know. We\'re here to enforce positivity and a light into our fans\' lives, so the idea of the \'new broken scene\' is sort of a movement that\'s about more than just music - it\'s saying we\'re all in this together, you know."
An unnamed member of 5SOS adds: "Relating back to the new broken scene, it\'s all about not caring what people think and say. It\'s like a fuck you to people who say you can\'t be what you are. And to represent that, I don\'t think we should carry on asking people not to call us a boy band.
"We learned our instruments, we learned how to write songs from scratch, we love performing live and we love fucking rocking out - that\'s what we do, so at this stage, people can call us whatever they want."
Naturally the couldn\'t go for an entire interview without the inevitable One Direction question either and after being asked about touring with them back in the day, either Luke, Ashton, Calum or Michael said: "Their story is very different to ours. Their type of music is very different to ours as well. It\'s a different type of journey, but to see how they\'ve done it and the way they treat their touring crew is something we\'ve learned from.
"We just want everyone that works for us to be happy, and we wouldn\'t have known how to do that unless we\'d toured with One Direction."
Thoughts on all of that? Then whack a comment in the box below please and if you fancy, you can pre-order 5SOS\'s copy of Notion right here.
