For me, my review is مزید about the characters than the plot.
First of all I want to say something about Arthur. This episode was after all very much about him.
Arthur Pendragon was a little lost in this episode. It is a heavy burden he has on his shoulders. He just lost his father and got thrown in to this new role. So he turned to his uncle. Who he thought was older and wiser. His uncle manipulated him. Made him feel he had to be like Uther to be a great king. A part of Arthur probably also thought that.
He has always looked for his father’s approval. So Arthur strayed from his true self. Being with Gwen goes against what his father stood for. It goes against the laws of society. It goes against the way Arthur was raised to think. For a moment Arthur thought that to be a good king, he should think like his father. He went against his true self and it made him feel lost, sad and angry. He felt all alone even if he wasn’t. He hurt himself even مزید that he hurt Gwen. He pushed those closest to him away. We could see his frustration through the way he acted towards Merlin. یا the way he punched the punching bag (which سے طرف کی the way was one of my پسندیدہ scenes). Arthur was a little like;
Love me when I deserve it the least, because it is when I need it the most.
And guess what? Both Gwen and Merlin, the two closest to him, did just that. That brings me to why Gwen forgave him so quickly. Because she مزید than anyone knew that this wasn’t Arthur. She loves him so much. And she knows him. It broke her دل but she knew, she understood. Thanks to her and to Merlin, Arthur found his way back to himself. That must have made Arthur see that he is not alone in this. They stood سے طرف کی him. When others could have left him.
Arthur saw the huge consequences of his actions and he dealt with them. In this episode he screwed up when he tried to be someone he is not. But he fixed it all when he got back to being his true self. He chose to fight to spare the lives of others and he spared the life of his opponent.
Queen Annis got to see Arthur when he was his true self. And she کہا that there was something about him, something that gives her hope for them all.
This episode is a perfect example to what makes our Arthur the best Arthur Pendragon. Because, a lot of us can relate to him. He is flawed, he is human. He messes up but then he deals with the consequences.
Well I could write a whole review just about Arthur. But I do have some opinions on the others too.
Guinevere made me so proud and she made me cry. She may be a servant. But she carries herself with مزید dignity, class and grace than any queen. I am مزید convinced than ever that she is the only woman for Arthur. She is strong, unselfish in her love for him and has a lot of dignity. She understood everything right away. She told him to be true to himself. She didn’t beg him to take her back. She continued to love him, and be there for him, even when he broke her دل with his words. She is the embodiment of inner strength.
Queen Annis was badass. She was a strong woman. I loved what she کہا to both Morgana and Arthur. It was amazing that after Arthur killed her husband, she could still see the good in him.
Merlin and Arthur were typical دوستوں again. I love how Merlin stood سے طرف کی Arthur in all of this. That Arthur called Merlin old friend.
I am a little disappointed in Morgana. I want a complex villain who feels misunderstood. Who believes her way is right. Who آپ can understand in some twisted way. Not a spoiled brat who stamps her feet on the ground saying my crown, my تخت یا my Camelot. I want to see مزید of her old self, mixed with this bad girl. I also want her to be مزید powerful.
Agravaine is awful. I can’t stand the guy. I am looking آگے to when he is revealed for the traitor he is.
I am convinced that Arthur sneaking out to Gwen’s house was not the first time. This is something they do on a regular basis. She didn’t seem surprised at all to see him there. Her smile broke my heart. Because I knew what was going to happen. I was like Arthur Pendragon don’t آپ dare to this. Arthur and Gwen both broke my دل in the break up scene. They both seemed so broken.
But the make up scene made it all worth it. It was so full of forgiveness, love, desire, and intimacy. He made an effort picking the flowers. The kiss was so hot. It reminds me that soon they will be husband and wife. This was a beautiful episode for our Arwen.
