Our penchant for matchy-matchy makeup has been well documented, so it\'s probably not surprising that we loved Ashley Benson\'s pink-lips-and-eyes combo at last night\'s

premiere. But let\'s face it: Pink shadow that matches your lipstick that matches your dress isn\'t the easiest look to pull off. So we asked makeup artist Hung Vanngo, who did Benson\'s makeup for the event, how to get it right.

"The key to using pink all over is to choose cooler tones," says Vanngo. Blue-based pinks are subtler and tend to look more like a natural flush, especially on fair skin tones.

One surprising thing about the shades Vanngo used on Benson is that he wouldn\'t actually describe them as pink. "It reads pink in photos, but the eye shadow was actually deeper, more like a brick color, in the palette," he says. (The specific eye-shadow shades were a combination of the deep-rust and peachy-pink shadows in the Tom Ford Summer Eye and Cheek Compact.)

To make sure Benson\'s eyes looked smolderingly sexy (and not like she\'d contracted pink eye), Vanngo rimmed them with a chocolate-brown eyeliner for definition, creating a "thick cat eye" and then blending the liner out to soften it. Vanngo kept the rest of Benson\'s face minimal, dusting a hint of pink blush on the apples of her cheeks and finishing the look with the cool-rose lipstick (CK One Pure Color Lipstick in Dollface).
