The trickiest part though is the source material, in which would mostly presume his origins no more than we can after seeing the films. Is doesn’t explain much of his origins other than the book giving hints he might be Bambi’s father.
Then again there’s Bambi 2 alone which was original(mainly due to the first movie not noting the fate of Bambi’s mother and being cared for while the book did, instead just transitioning to birds singing springtime songs. And they made this midquel to cover it up), eve though they did take some particularly in featured parts in the books to aid them.
