I'm American, and can't understand in a million years why it even needs to be remade. The SyFy channel should just buy the rights to the original, because we all speak the same friggin language don't we?

Our remakes can never be as good as the originals (tv wise) because we have FCC regulations to abide by, which takes everything 'edgy' or 'risky' out and turns it into a lame watered down version that barely resembles the original. Not to mention our lame need to make every lead actor look like perfect Barbie & Ken dolls that have the acting skills of a pet rock.

Being Human is a very British idea and show, it should be left like that.

when it's American, it won't be anything special and won't catch any attention. British version has it's tease, it's honest and interesting.

As an American, I think its an atrocious idea. Remakes are horrible, even worse when they are made by the syfy network. I watch the Being Human because I like it the way it is, not some Americanized garbage heap that doesn't even compare to the original. Part of the shows charm is that it is relatively special effects minimal and how the actors portray the characters, and I can almost guarantee in the US version, they will try to cover up deplorable acting with enough poor special effects and jerky camera movements that will make the general population fall into a fit of seizures.

I don't like SyFy much, but I loovvveee the writer's of Supernatural- and the lead they cast as 'Aiden' is pretty darned amazing. If you watched Smallville's Doomsday arc you'll know what I mean.
I'm cautiously optimistic.

Meh, I'll watch it, but it won't be as good as the original, and I think it's completely unnecessary.
Honestly, the main reason I'll be watching is simply because I can't say no to ScFi Original anything: series, miniseries, even those awesomely bad movies. SciFi=BEST CHANNEL EVER.

I love the original to pieces, huge fan!!! But I'm open minded to the new series becuz it'll be a whole other take on the story. The only thing that's similar is the plot, but the characters, settings and situations are all gonna be completely different. It's the writers from SUPERNATUAL, I'm sure there are alot of SPN fans here which is another reason why this new paranormal series deserves a chance to grow on us. That being said I still love Being Human as is:)

No point... characters won't change... The only thing that may change is the area in which these things happen... in affect you'll be watching the same show 2 a week... Why fix something that isn't broken?

Well it is different and awesome I might add!!! Love the new version as much as the origional!!!!XD

Yeah the show exists and yes there are mixed veiws but you have no right to pass around attitude like you own the place. Your really starting to p!ss me off now... --- Its awesome in your eyes so good for you but we dont feel that way - stop shunning people who think differently.

I watched the first three episodes of the US version and couldn't stomach any more. I think I would have been fine with the idea if they just took a vampire, a werewolf and a ghost, stuck them in house together, used the darkness and the difficult moral choices of the original series and did everything else differently. But the way they stuck so closely to the plot of the original was just too much for me.

I mean what was made wasn't a reimagining (Nikita is the reimagining of La Femme Nikita for example, whether you think it's a successful one doesn't matter, but it is clear that even though familiar stuff was used some imagination was actually present in the process) it's a ripoff.
