Pop legend Britney Spears lined up to appear in PANTO later this year
She is said to be close to agreeing a mega-deal, worth up to £500,000, to play Cinderella for five weeks at the London Palladium from December
Britney Spears could earn half a million pounds in panto this year
Pop princess Britney Spears is being lined-up to appear in PANTO later this year, reports the Sunday People.
She is said to be close to agreeing a mega-deal - worth up to £500,000 - to play Cinderella for five weeks at the London Palladium from December 9.
It is the first pantomime put on by the capital’s top entertainment venue for 30 years - and theatre chiefs were determined to land a big-name star to pull in the punters.
They turned to the 34-year-old Oops! I Did It Again hit-maker for the “spectacular production” after being snubbed by the likes of Kylie Minogue and Kim Kardashian.
It will be the first time the American chart-topper has trodden the boards in London’s West End.
An insider close to the deal said: “The final agreement hasn’t yet been signed but everyone is confident and hopeful it will be sorted very shortly so an official announcement can be made.

“Britney was one of a number of big name stars who were approached - you name a female star they were approached - but the others didn’t work out and they have opted for her.
“She is a still huge name who is much-loved by British fans - she will definitely attract people to come along and see her. A star of her standing isn’t cheap - but she will be worth every penny if she can attract sell-out audiences.
“Everyone is very excited - It is all about bums on seats and creating a buzz. Cinderella is going to be mega - definitely *the* show to attend in London this winter.
“It also will help raise Britney’s profile in the UK again - and help boost sales of her music.”
It is thought that Britney - if she agrees the deal - will be surrounded by experienced big-name British celebrities and panto-veterans who will drive the show forward.
“It is very much based on the traditional Cinderella, with a few twists, Britney will feature and maybe sing a song or two - but the rest of the cast will carry the burden. There will be some big name co-stars,’’ the insider revealed.
Will Britney step into the glass slipper?
After finding childhood TV stardom as a Disney Mouseketeer, Britney enjoyed huge pop success in her teens with hits like Baby One More Time, Toxic and Circus.
But, the mum-of-two, said to be worth £100m, struggled with fame in her 20s - suffering several meltdowns amid problems with drink and drug abuse.
At one time she shaved off all her hair but has turned her life around and has enjoyed performing a lucrative £10m residency in Las Vegas.

Britney, still hugely popular - boasting 45m Twitter followers, is waiting to release her ninth studio album tale.”
London’s Palladium first held star-studded pantomimes in 1910 and over the years attracted the likes of Peter Sellers, Cilla Black, Frankie Howard and Jim Davidson.
Peter Pan and later Cinderella were the two traditional pantomime favourites at the famous theatre - home to shows like Sunday Night at the London Palladium.
It is hoped Britney will be able to relaunch her pop career in the UK
But, the final panto in 1987, was Babes in the Wood featuring Babs Windsor, Cannon and Ball, Rod Hull and Emu and John Inman.
Since the famous 2,280-seat theatre in Argyll Street stopped hosting pantomimes, the UK’s biggest show is at Birmingham’s Hippodrome, which this year is putting on Dick Whittington.
Britain’s biggest pants-promoters Qdos Entertainment - who have produced 650 shows seen annually by 1.5m fans - decided to bring panto back to the Palladium after dates became free.
Michael Harrison, who is directing Cinderella for QDos Entertainment, claimed it would be a “spectacular production, with the feel of the original and stuff full of stars.”
One of Britain’s previous biggest Panto deals was BGT winner Pudsey the dog’s £500,000 two-year agreement in 2013, while the likes of
EastEnder Steve McFadden reputedly banked £200,000 for his stint.
