aagh! I accidentally deleted this when I was trying to ترمیم it. here it is again with a new title:
Bella could have gotten over Edward in New Moon and even had a real relationship with Jacob in time, but she wouldn't let herself. She felt that moving on would diminish یا discredit her twu wuv with Edward and the pain she felt after he left. She wants to believe she can't get over it because she wants to believe that what they had was extraordinary, not like any other teenage romance. She wants to believe no one else in the world can relate to what she's going through. She was alone because she put her pain on this egotistical pedestal. Her's was grander, deeper, مزید irreparable than all else. Healing is for other people with lesser wounds from lesser loves.
Even if she can no longer have Edward, Bella wants to hang onto the fantasy that she had the greatest love of all time, something epic. And so she turns herself into a martyr, suffering indescribable, incurable pain forever after. That's the way I think Meyer sees it when she describes the way Bella cuts herself off from everyone as "beautiful." She and Bella see it as Bella generously saving everyone else from sharing her eternal pain سے طرف کی suffering alone. What she's really doing is preventing the possibility of healing in order to preserve her fantasy of grandeur.
I think all people sometimes feel like this to some (much lesser) degree. We don't want to recover because then it makes us look foolish for having been so over-dramatic, acting like it was the end of the world. We اقدام on though, not because our pain wasn't real, but because we are mature enough to realize that our emotions had exaggerated our outlook on life. It takes humility and personal growth and courage. Bella's refusal to do this is the epitome of immaturity.

I came across the site 'My life is average' (link) where people send in random quotes such as 'Today, my friend and I bought cake mix at the store. The cashier jokingly told us to bring him back some cake. We did. MLIA."
I curiously searched Edward Cullen and some pretty much hilarious results came up!
"Today, my 12-year-old Twilight obsessed little sister told me she wanted a life sized picture of Edward Cullen to put up on her wall. Since she's always telling me how much better Twilight is than Harry Potter, I decided to get her a life sized picture of Cedric Diggory instead. MLIA"
Not the funniest one there, but i've seen some that have made me literally crease. I would recommend looking some up if آپ want a good laugh and hate the hype surrounding Twilight! :)

I used to be a die-hard Twilight fan. (see my username. Damn I wish I'd chosen ANYTHING else sometimes.)
I still like the book in small doses now, and I even write fanfiction for it, but now I've looked critically at SMeyer's characters, and I think I realize what people are talking about when they say Bella سوان, ہنس is a Mary Sue.
As a person who has seen it from both sides, I'd like to say that maybe Twilight شائقین didn't see Bella like that to begin with because she has so many "flaws".
I'm not really a mega-supporter of Bella's neediness. And I even, admittedly, wonder why she took Edward back after New Moon. Normal people with lives and better things to do would say, "Hell no am I taking آپ back. آپ left me crying in a forest, and آپ think I'll just come running back to you? آپ wanna commit suicide, go right ahead while I get the popcorn."
I still like Twilight. But maybe Bella سوان, ہنس was kind of 2-Dimensional.
