Has anyone else noticed how mean and snobbish Jessica - and Christopher - seemed in the previews, compared to the actual movie?

In my opinion, this served as a strong metaphor, reflecting a main point from the movie: The truth (in this case, the movie's storyline) can be turned into something ugly (in this case, how negative Jessica and Christopher seemed in the previews). Does anyone else agree, یا am I out on my own, here?
