so your prolife i take it?

it depend on how you view this, some would say that them babies have murdered however the fetuses shown in the images have not yet reached a stage where the have pulses within the brain meaning they are not conscious beings yet, so how can you murder something that does not think, like you can't murder a plant

I have to agree. As much as I find it sad to think that that baby might have been something great when it grows up, I really don't think about it as murder, because they are not concious, and don't have any thoughts.

I ma going to be Devils advocate her and say If you were a teenager that after a drunken night out had drunk sex with that really fit boy from across the road and then discovered you were pregnant a few weeks later if you were put into that position what would you do? Do not condemn the women who have abortions until you know the reason behind it, She may be a middle aged woman in a violent marriage and does not want to bring her baby into a cycle of destruction and neglect. So please Just try to see it from that angle Maybe and I am tottaly prolife by the way but maybe if that baby was going to be in danger I am sure you have all heard of the balls up the social work made with baby p maybe It is the most humane thing to do as using a baby as a band aid in a relationship would just be unfair to that child.

Ow come on! Imagine you've just been raped and you're whole life is in ruins. How many people do you think will think of that pill? Maybe if you go to the police they will advice you to take it, but lots and lots of rape victims don't even report it. They don't admit it to themselves until later and will propably not be able to even think about the possibility of being pregnant.

I'm pro-choice: my body, my choice and everyone else has nothing to do with, just as I have nothing to do with another woman's choice. Don't judge situations you know nothing about.

I have been pregnant five times and have given birth to two live children. I had three abortions. The first was at 10 weeks, second was at 9 weeks and the most recent one was at no more than 6 weeks. I had a termination after having already had a child because I realised that I was committed to a situation and a person for the rest of my life. I had not realised what being a parent involved and decided to terminate because of how much work being a parent involved. This was coupled with pressure that my partner put on me and also being worried about what my family would think if i had another baby in a bad situation as with my first child.
I now regret what it is that I have done. I should have prevented my pregnancies rather than doing what I did. I have looked at the images, confessed what I have done, given my children names and am in the process of writing letters to each one.
A woman can't forget her children, regardless of what the world says. A feotus is a baby, regardless of whether it is conscious or not. I regret what I have done and please anyone who is reading and considering making the same terrible decision look at the images and understand exactly what it is you are doing. It is not like telling a lie or hurting someone and then saying sorry afterwards, it is something that you can't reverse. You have to live with your decision in sadness for the rest of your mortal life. It will haunt any woman, if not on the day or year you have an abortion at some time and from then for the rest of your life.

I'm more pro-life, as in I'd most likely tell someone that they should just have the baby and give it up for adoption. On the other hand, I do feel that it is a choice.

But I don't think you should be able to abort that late. I hope seeing the corpse made them feel guilty. =.=

Tabronorm-I will pray for you from now until the day I die. Yes, you murdered, but there is a God who forgives. All you have to do is ask. I was already prolife, but after reading what you wrote, I am even more so.

Ladies, if someone was formerly heterosexual and became homosexual, (though I would not) you would support them, then why do you not support a woman who has had several abortions and knows the pain and is now prolife?

I think how people respond to having an abortion really depends whether someone believes the babies are living at that age. If you don't even think of it as an alive being, you won't feel guilty for having an abortion. If you consider it alive though, it will seem like murder to you. Personally, I get a sickening and sad feeling when I hear of abortions, because I've always believed that the infants are living. But I understand why some people are pro-choice.

Souls? I don't believe in souls, but if I did, I don't think these have them...I mean they're fetuses, they can't think! They're not even alive! Some of the pictures were smaller than a thumb! Most of them were. Adoption isn't as easy as it sounds, like of a woman had stolen something, and she was broke, and pregnant, but had a reputation...Also think of some teenager, middle school, high school, college, trying to proceed in education to make something of their life, but then they get raped. Many victims don't talk about those experiences. If they have the opportunity to get the procedure, it would make their life a lot easier. I understand that some people are against that, and THEY would rather put the child up for adoption, well that's great for them because nobody's forcing them to get an abortion! Honestly, people, put yourself in the shoes of someone else. And it's not like women use abortions like birth control often, I mean can you think about that? I'm sure it's emotionally straining on the woman, and nobody's gonna be like "Oh, there's no condoms, let's take care of this in the second easiest way". Really, guys.

^ You're missing the important point that some people believe the fetutes are alive human beings. It's not a given fact that they are not living, so please don't present it as one.

Everybody knows these pictures are probably fake, right? 9 times out of 10, when pro-life groups show pictures like these, they're fake. Cause guess what? When a doctor performs an abortion, they don't turn around and TAKE PICTURES OF EVERYTHING.

This is a TERRIBLE way to spread information about abortion. You want to outlaw abortion? Then these are the things you have to do:

1.) Make pregnancy and birth affordable. Don't allow hospitals to charge you ridiculous amounts of money for it. Don't allow doctors to schedule YOUR birth around THEIR schedule. Don't allow doctors to pump you full of painkillers and chemicals to make THEIR job easier. Did you know that the vast majority of babies born in the US are born between the hours of 9am-5pm, Monday-Friday?

2.) Make daycare affordable. Do you have any idea how much quality daycare is? Easily more than a thousand dollars a month. Do you have a thousand dollars you can loan every working and/or single mother in the country?

3.) Did you know that maternity care in the US is mandatory, but it's not mandatory that it be PAID? See, if I have a crappy job, they will give me the mandatory 6 weeks time off, but they won't pay me for it. How am I going to pay my rent? Diapers? Utility bills? Food? Plus...6 weeks. That's all a mother gets to recuperate from giving birth. 6 very short weeks. Oh, and paternity leave? Most people just scoff if you bring that up.

4.) Resources. Food. Housing. Education. Clothing. If we want to criminalize abortion, then we need to provide our mothers with enough resources so that they can give their children good lives. We need to improve our public education system. (Not everyone can afford private school.)

5.) Birth Control. Say it with me, people - birth control. We need to make it affordable and accessible. No more pharmacy techs denying women birth control because of their "conscience." No more sex education classes spreading lies about birth control, and then telling teenagers they need to be abstinent forever. People can have sex without reproducing; it's not that hard. We need to start telling the truth about birth control, and then we need to get off this high horse we have about teenagers having sex. Sex isn't bad; it isn't gross, and it isn't immoral. You just need to do it right.

Abortion has been around FOREVER. Do you people think abortion was invented 50 years ago? It wasn't. It has been around forever, specifically because going through a pregnancy is risky, and having too many children is exhausting and potentially life-threatening. Women have always known this, and there have always been ways, in every culture, in every country, to terminate a pregnancy. Not everyone is living in a suburb with a high income and an awesome husband. No, some people are poor. Some people are single. Some people are in unhealthy, abusive relationships. Do you know who has the best knowledge of whether a woman can sustain a pregnancy and a child? The woman who is pregnant, that's who.

Women are not just receptacles for a uterus. We are living, breathing people - in fact, not that different from men! Our only purpose is not to provide the world with babies, and if you are going to take away abortion, you need to provide an alternative. You need to provide affordable, accessible ways to carry, birth and raise a child. Dr. Tiller (you know, the abortion doctor who was killed) had a saying: Trust Women.

Think about that before you cry over (photoshopped) pictures of aborted fetuses.

To me, calling these fake is like Holocaust denial. You deem it as "fake" in order to avoid seeing something that makes you uncomfortable and unable to accept as it is (Am not trying to insinuate anything by saying "accept as it is", just to put that out there to hopefully avoid future unncessary drama).

I don't see how these pictures can be factually proven as fake. :/

As for the pictures themselves;

O_O....they are...pretty disturbing.

Sort of strengthens my Pro-Life side and keeps me in the middle of being Pro-Choice or Pro-Life.

Edit: Added response to images after accessing the link. *shudders* I'm perturbed. Definitely..downright disturbing...

These pictures are often faked or represented out of context. It's not denying that abortion happens, only saying that scenes are created to provoke an emotional response. On Bones, they fake disturbingly realistic dead bodies all the time, but calling them fake says nothing about murder as a concept being okay.

Tabronorm thank you for your courage. We have all made mistakes in our lives but what is important is that we recognize them and change our actions.

Wether or not the pictures are faked is not the issue- it is a very ugly thing regardless of what you see in a picture and children are murdered.

Women Do have a choice- they can decide to use birth control, they can decide to NOT have sex, they can decide to give the child up for adoption. I understand their are cases of rape and endagerment of the mother's health and in those horrible circumstances I would be enclined to understand. However, to use abortion as birth control should not be allowed to be an option. It is bluring the lines of defining the value of a human life which is never a good thing for any any society. For example, partial birth abortion, the only difference between murdering a "fetus" and murdering born child is a passing through the women's vagina.

You bring up the point of merely restricting abortions, and while that sounds reasonable, I'd have to question how you reach that end without denying abortions to people who fall under the "reasonable" categories. Tell me, who is going to decide what is and is not a dangerous enough health risk to warrant an abortion? Who's going to decide whether someone is the victim of rape or incest? We can talk all day about idealistic concepts of what we would like to be included among legal and illegal abortions, but we don't live in an ideal world, so in the end, no matter which method you choose for restriction, some deserving women will be denied an abortion. I guess the point I'm getting at is: are those women an acceptable sacrifice in order to prevent other abortions?

I maintain if you want to prevent abortions, put more social programs in place to help new and vulnerable mothers and their children and education. It seems like after a baby's been born, the government stops caring about it. If more vulnerable expectant mothers felt supported, instead of shamed for "not keeping their legs closed" and didn't dread the financial and emotional commitment of having and potentially raising a child because they knew there were kind people and systems in place to hold her hand and help her along the way, maybe fewer women would choose to have an abortion.

And recall, being pro-choice means having the ability to choose to bring your child to term, as much as it means having the ability to choose to have an abortion. Wanted children are happier children. So let's support are most vulnerable population - newborn babies and stigmatized mothers.

I love life. Everything breathing, everything with a heartbeat, etc. I admire the plants growing & feeding from the sun. I love watching bugs exist being their little self. HOWEVER, I do believe a woman should have a choice of whether or not to keep her baby. If she got pregnant through a horrible incident such as rape, she should have the option of terminating this baby who will always remind her of the horrific traumatic experience. I think young couples should have a choice. Lots of boys/young guys have sex. Some don't know how to put a on dorm on properly. Some guys don't know how/when to pull out. Some girls forget/is late taking a pill. These are young people who love sex because of the sensual pleasure, but don't really understand protection & possibility of raising a child. Therefore, I am pro choice.
