Feminist scholars have divided Disney heroines into four groups: The Classics, The Good Daughters, The Princesses, and The Tough Girls. I'm going to tackle each group one at a time, and it's only fair to start with the ones who started it all: Snow White, Cinderella, and Aurora.
The original princesses have very similar personalities and traits. They are all kindhearted, innocent, beautiful, asexual, goodnatured, and musical, and two of them (Snow White and Cinderella) are used to forced physical labor. (We can probably assume that Aurora has seen her share of labor because of her peasant life, but not because of cruelty towards her.) Also, all three princesses lack a decent mother figure; Cinderella and Snow White suffer from cruel stepmothers, and while Aurora has a biological mother, her mother is unable to protect her and she spends 99% of the movie unaware of her mother's existence. The evil woman who is after them is conniving, intelligent, calculating, and often hates the heroine purely because she is innocent and beautiful, while the villainess is depicted as over-sexualized and evil on all accounts. So Walt's original creations all have very similar stories, but they have personalities of their own that are worth exploring.

Snow White, the original and the standard, often takes considerable flak for her cutesy, naive innocence, and some of that flak is deserved. From the first sentence she utters, Snow White wants nothing مزید than for her prince to come. She has no interests outside of finding him, no hobbies outside of being with him, and no goals other than marrying him. When the witch comes along and tells her to make a wish, any wish at all, Snow White asks for a prince. She doesn't mention the fact that her birthright has been taken from her سے طرف کی force, she doesn't fear that her kingdom is being ruled سے طرف کی an attempted-murderess, and she doesn't even wish for her position back. She just wants the Prince. Everything else can come as it may, but as long as she has a boyfriend, everything will be alright.
Snow White doesn't make things happen; she reacts to things that happen to her. The most active part she takes in her own life consists of setting up housekeeping with the dwarves, which she did مزید یا less سے طرف کی force (since she quite literally barged into their home.) However, she's not content to be taken care of. She works and cleans and maintains order, becoming the "mother" of the group. It even seems that the dwarves need her, although they didn't know it until she informed them of it. However, her trusting nature and naivete keep her from being much use; as soon as the dwarves are gone, she bites the سیب, ایپل and nearly dies because she ignored their warning.
Snow White falls into two basic categories of female stereotypes portrayed in film: the Contented Homemaker and the Innocent Ingenue. For one thing, she is naive and trusting and seems content to remain so; the fact that she is childish and completely unsexualized are her redeeming features and set her aside from the conniving, vain queen (whom, we are lead to assume, is jealous of the Prince's advances on Snow White.) In the Contented Homemaker, she merely needs someone to take care of. She comes upon the dwarves and completely rearranges their lives. There isn't anything innately wrong with the way they are living, and they seemed content without her, but, as a true mother-figure will do, Snow White sweeps in, takes over, and becomes the mother they didn't know they were missing.

Cinderella shares many of Snow White's traits, but has a different personality. First of all, we are lead to believe that Cinderella is a grown woman, at least 18 یا so, and so she lacks the childish whimsy of Snow White. Also, she has a refined elegance and grace about her that was highly admired in women in the 1950s, a time period when domestic bliss amongst women was the سب, سب سے اوپر priority. She is lovely, gracious, and always keeps a smile in her heart, no matter the circumstances. She seems to accept her lot in life with a good level of equanimity. In the beginning she talks of dreams being her one rebellion, but she never mentions exactly what it is she wants. We are lead to believe she's dreaming of a husband, but she doesn't ever tell us; for all we know, she could have been dreaming of going backpacking around the rainforest. (This vague "dream" will come up again with a vengeance later on.)
Having accepted her lot in life, Cinderella shuffles through her daily existence without ever losing her quiet dignity, until the دن comes when doing what she's told will no longer do. When she first attempts to go to the ball, she tries to do so with her stepmother's permission. Sneaking off to the ball was never in the original plan; she intended to attend with her family. However, after her stepmother gets her hopes up and than crushes that dream, Cinderella is faced with a crucial decision: slink back to the attic and accept her fate, یا take the opportunity to go to the ball anyway (with some help from the fairy godmother, of course.) It is in choosing to go to the ball anyway that Cinderella departs from meek, submissive Snow White and becomes a pale shadow of a modern heroine, a preliminary sketch of what was to come.
Of course, once at the ball, she falls in instantaneous love with the prince and is later swept off her feet, and we are lead to believe that she and the Prince rush off into matrimonial bliss after that, but let's not downplay the significance of going to the ball anyway. سے طرف کی attending the ball, Cinderella risked public humiliation یا worse, depending on her stepmother's rage, so going was no simple decision. Cinderella is living proof that آپ can only push even the BEST of women so far, and for that reason, Cinderella was an enormous step آگے as far as feminism for Disney animated heroines. Unfortunately, the اگلے Princess would ultimately be a large step BACK....

Aurora was released to the world less than 10 years after Cinderella was, and there could not be a bigger difference between the two. Of course, they share the same traits as Snow White in several ways, but while Cinderella ultimately took some initiative, Aurora never does. Throughout her sparse 18 منٹ of screentime, Aurora doesn't take one active step in her own life. She sings, daydreams, dances with a strange man, is lead around سے طرف کی others, sleeps, and than dances with the strange man again. Even when she is دیا the simple task of picking berries, she doesn't really do it, she just picks a few and than frolics in the woods.
However, Aurora does have one redeeming feature that I bet you've never thought of: she is the first princess to be forwardly flirty with a man. If آپ recall, Snow White runs away from her prince, Cinderella just seems starstruck سے طرف کی hers (and eventually runs from him,) but Aurora pantomimes being flirtatious and almost sexy with her pseudo-prince, the Owl. When he is dressed in the Prince's robes, she saunters up to him, dances against him (pretty suggestively for the time period), and flirts pretty aggressively. Of course, as soon as the real prince shows up, she dissolves into a shy, awkward, inert lump, but still, it's a pretty big step. The Classic princesses are portrayed as good because they are entirely innocent and completely unsexualized, so the fact that Aurora was flirting pretty forwardly, if only in her daydreams, is a pretty big accomplishment.

I hope you've enjoyed part one! Be looking out for Part 2: The Princesses. :)

I've finally made up my mind and created my فہرست of پسندیدہ Disney Princesses. Forgive me for not having any pictures for the فہرست (I don't know how to make them). I hope that I won't get any hate from others.

12. Ariel
I never did see why she's so popular. She defied her father and made a stupid decision trading her voice for a guy she only met...once. ONCE! That's just plain dumb, that's why she's at the bottom of the list, but if I have to say one thing good about the movie...it would be arguing with her father when she forgot the concert. I mean...what daughter doesn't argue with their dad?...

I have been wanting to do this مضمون for months, and I finally have my فہرست sorted out. I decided I am going to do one now, and then an updated one in a few weeks with Anna and Elsa in it. Hope آپ like it. :)

Numbers 10-9 are the princesses I simply like.

10. Tiana (Previously: 10)

I like Tiana, she's everything I should want to be. She's a perfect role model. She's mature, hard-working, dutiful, sensible, practical, everything I'm not. I really admire her determination and her bravery, but it ends there. I can't really connect with her at all, which makes me uninterested in her.

09. Snow White...

I've seen and read many of these types of مضامین lately and I thought I would do one too. So here it is:

10. Snow White and The Prince- They are dead last because we only see them interact once at the beginning of the movie when Snow White is singing at the wishing well and only for a moment. After that we don't see the prince again until the end of the movie when he kisses Snow White and she wakes up. So it would be اگلے to impossible to place them any higher on the فہرست when they barely have any interaction. They are cute together though.
9. Tiana and Naveen- They have plenty of interaction...

11.

Merida is my least پسندیدہ Princess. Nothing against her at all! She is of course beautiful and I do love her but I do love the classic DP better. She is though a wonderful DP.

10.

Mulan is a great princess and I admire much about her but I can't say shes one of my favorites. She doesn't capture and entice me like the other princesses.

9.

Pocahontas I feel bad that i have put her this low but I feel other princesses are better. Pocahontas is great! She's brave and caring but she does bore me sometimes.

This is my first مضمون on here but I'd like to put my updated پسندیدہ Disney princess فہرست out there. I will likely make another one in a few weeks after I see Frozen. For now though my فہرست is this.
1. Jasmine- She is still my number one, I doubt that will change anytime soon. I love her fiery, independent nature and how she stands up for herself and is not a prized to be won. I admire her for this. I also love her sweet, compassionate side when she handed an سیب, ایپل to the child.
2. Aurora-still my سیکنڈ پسندیدہ and very dear to me. I love her dreamy, romantic personality and how she is...

Okay, I decided to do one(: This فہرست doesn't change too often, but still.. I'm not big on descriptions and such. And I will apologize for the way I talk, which a lot of آپ will think I'm crazy for, in advanced. Okay.. Go!

11. Merida
I have seen very little of her movie, but what I have seen is a bratty, unspecial, and annoying girl. Enough said, broski.

10. Snow White
She is too cheery and happy. I'm optimism, but not all her crazy junk. I do enjoy her manipulative and sarcastic side. (;

9. Cinderella
I admire her attitude towards everything, but meh..

8. Ariel
No.. Just no. And for your nosy little...

Ok I have to clear up a confusion that people seem to have about Merida being Pixar and not Disney.

You are mistaken.....notice that...at the start of every Pixar movie, آپ see the DISNEY logo start (the castle), then the Pixar studio logo (the lamp)
and at the start of Disney فلمیں آپ have the same Disney logo and THEN the walt disney اندازی حرکت studio logo (steamboat Mickey)...

2 different studios owned سے طرف کی the SAME Disney company.

Disney owns the Pixar studio, disney studio and several other branches that make other فلمیں like the live action ones, exct.

If disney was that separate from Pixar,...

Hi guys. I've been on this site for a while and have not written this article. I guess its because I have trouble ramking them. But I'll give it a shot. This is my opinion and no on elses. please تبصرہ if آپ want to share your lists یا your opinion. Also this is only judging on the first movie, no sequels....anyway......

10.Aurora-
Don't get me wrong I like aurora, but someone had to be #10, and thats her. I find her slightly boring and i never really liked her movie. But she is beautiful.

9.Cinderella-In the third movie, I loved her...but I am only judging on the first movie. In the first...

10. Aurora
Aurora was دیا the gift of beauty and the gift of voice. She has classic beauty and I love her singing voice but I feel like that's all she's got.

9. Snow White
Snow White and the seven dwarves is the most classic and original Disney princess movie in my opinion but Snow White lacks character. At least she cooks and clean.

8. Ariel
Ariel is curious, adventurous and romantic. Sure she was stubborn for making the deal but we all made the same mistake she did. The movie just over exaggerated the situation of girls doing something completely stupid for some guy. Nobody's...

1. How does it feel being the new FOTM?

Very Nice! I would like to say thank آپ to the ones that voted for me and also wish everyone else good luck for the FOTM picks coming up.

2. Do آپ prefer DP فلمیں مزید than regular Disney movies?

I don't really have a prefrence I just like فلمیں in general.

3. Which princess do آپ love the most and why?

I used to be a big Ariel fan, but as I got older I started looking at her differently and seeing her from a different point of view. Now I see that she really is not a good role model and is very spoiled and shallow. I am now a big Tiana Fan. She...

Welcome guys to my final and most upbeat interview yet. I am very happy to announce this final session will be with the characters from Disney’s Tangled! I have two main reasons for being super excited about this one; one Rapunzel is so super bubbly and hyper that this should be a very exciting interview and two I get to stare at Flynn during the whole thing…YAY ME! We are doing this interview outside in a beautiful clearing and it is just to be me, Rapunzel, and Flynn (sigh)

(When I arrive Flynn is already laid out on the ground relaxing and watching Rapunzel skips around and picks flowers....

"Oh, my gosh! OK, آپ have to do it, OK? And then آپ have to tell me all the horrible things that Aurora says." Rapunzel whispered excitedly in the lavatory.
Ariel replied "Aurora seems sweet."
Rapunzel quickly and sharply replied back "Aurora Costa is not sweet. She's a scum-sucking road whore! She ruined my life!"
The two girls met up with Eugene and Rapunzel told him what Ariel told her.
Eugene کہا "She's fabulous, Ariel, but she is EVIL!"
Ariel asked "Why do آپ hate her? Aurora Costa, آپ seem to really hate her. But why?"
Eugene explained "Aurora started this rumor that Rapunzel-" he was...

Sooner یا later it would happen, so why wait more? Here I am to my first (and theme-predictable) مضمون about my fav DPs. It doesn't have a lot of surprises, but I hope آپ find my text interesting. However, even if آپ dislike it, there are some تصاویر that might distract آپ =D . And I'm brazilian, so forgive me if my english isn't always perfect.

#10 - Aurora
I don't even dislike her and I think that's impossible, she's kind, graceful and responsible. آپ can't just hate someone for having little screen time! However, I still wish she had ran away from the fairies after they told her she...

I walked to work the اگلے دن with my head in the air. I never felt better in my life--I couldn't believe that my mother actually fell for the phony note.
I opened the door to my boss's office. "Mr. Anthony, I got the note signed سے طرف کی my mother. What's next?" I sat down in the plastic chair in front of his desk.
He dug through his ڈیسک and pulled out a black suitcase. "The task begins," he announced, handing it to me.
My دل stopped. I felt the cool texture of the black leather under my palm. "What's inside?"
"Your suit, a camera, notepad, laser pen, and a bar for defense," he counted these...

Well, yeah. This is like the 300th time I've made this مضمون but Tangled came out plus my opinion has changed a bit. So, hope آپ like it. :) Sorry about the Pocahontas bit.

10) Tiana
People down here think that I'm crazy, but I don't care!
People down here think that I'm crazy, but I don't care!

I hate choosing a least favorite. :( I love how Tiana goes after her dreams and won't give up until she's done, but there seems like there's something missing about her. She's just kind of blah. I can't find a bunch of words to describe her; hardworking, determined, serious, kind....and that's about it. Her personality's just too realistic for me.
