I want to make it clear- I LOVE THE MOVIE ALADDIN, I love every character in it- except Aladdin. And finally, i'll tell آپ why.
I didn't really organize this well because I couldn't figure this out.

Main issues- Aladdin's sexist/classicism assumptions, and Jasmine's hypocrisy

Scenario: Aladdin sees جیسمین, یاسمین in the marketplace, falls for her, brings her back to his poor-boy hut, and together they have a دل to دل about how they feel trapped سے طرف کی their situations. Although جیسمین, یاسمین doesn't explicitly state that she is a princess, she does hint that it's not an enjoyable life. "Oh sure, people who tell آپ where to go, and how to dress..."
She discusses how she's getting forced to get married and how awful it is. They have a cute moment and nearly kiss, when they're broken up. Princess-in-disguise جیسمین, یاسمین is about to kiss سٹریٹ, گلی چوہا Aladdin.

Cut to Aladdin dressed up as a Prince approaching the town. جیسمین, یاسمین is shown to be totally unimpressed سے طرف کی the big parade, rolling her eyes and scoffing at its grandiosity. Aladdin grins his cocky-boy grin and enters the castle, charming the Sultan immediately. After referring to جیسمین, یاسمین as a prize to be won, جیسمین, یاسمین overhears and angrily scorns them for treating her as such.

Cut to Aladdin talking to the genie. The genie suggests Aladdin BE HIMSELF. Aladdin's response?
"If جیسمین, یاسمین found out I was some crummy سٹریٹ, گلی rat, she'd laugh at me."

WHAT.
1. آپ met جیسمین, یاسمین in the marketplace and SHE ALMOST KISSED آپ WHEN SHE KNEW آپ WERE A سٹریٹ, گلی RAT, آپ MORON. This means Aladdin is just automatically assuming that because جیسمین, یاسمین is a princess, because of her royalty, she must be shallow and only want the finest of men. This is a shallow assumption for Aladdin to make, and shows he didn't listen to a word جیسمین, یاسمین کہا while they were talking at his hut. Even though he knew her when he thought she was also poor, finding out she was a princess illogically and immediately changed his view on her.

2. If what he assumes is true, that جیسمین, یاسمین IS shallow and only wants rich, handsome men, why would Aladdin, the boy who wants to prove that there's so much مزید to him, degrade himself and act as an impostor just to win a girl he assumes has shallow morals? My only assumption is that because as he previously repeats in the movie, he thinks being rich will solve all his problems. I won't fault him for that, growing up poor all his life must really take his toll, but does he need to bring someone else down with him?

Cut to Aladdin on the balcony with Jasmine. Aladdin tries to act as smooth, confident Aladdin who جیسمین, یاسمین doesn't care for- but wait! Does جیسمین, یاسمین recognize him as the سٹریٹ, گلی چوہا from the marketplace?
Aladdin agrees with جیسمین, یاسمین when she says she is rich, the daughter of the sultan (not that he can dispute), and a 'fine prize for any prince to marry'. AGREES. And gives her the ol' up-down with his eyes. She spurns him once again for being SO materialistic and tells him to jump off a balcony, how DARE he be so shallow, like any other stuffed-shirt swaggering peacock she's met!

...Until, of course, Aladdin whips out his magic carpet (no metaphor intended) and جیسمین, یاسمین instantly turns into the materialistic, shallow person that she's been insulting others for being this whole film.
"A liar who agrees that I am only a rich, hot prize to be won? GO JUMP OFF A BALCONY! Oh, آپ have a magic carpet? Never mind, let me hop on that!"
Jasmine, after discovering this guy not only is lying to her, acting totally cocky and shallow, but also is trying to win her over with material items (as she was so unimpressed with a giant parade with many other, مزید impressive magical items) rightfully and admirably spurns him, until he literally scrapes the bottom of the barrel and doesn't even try to win her over with words یا apology, just pulls out his flying machine and wow, she is charmed. AND at this point she should realize, if she suspects that he is the boy from the marketplace, that he is acting EXACTLY the opposite of what she wants, even as she EXPRESSED to him, which should lead her to the conclusion that not only is she shallow but he was feigning interest/didn't care.

I won't dive too much into the 'A Whole New World' scene but I will say that there, Aladdin is being totally possessive and controlling of Jasmine.

During their scene in China, جیسمین, یاسمین finally tricks Aladdin into revealing that he isn't who he's pretending to be- and he lies again. APPARENTLY HE STILL HASN'T REMEMBERED یا PICKED UP ON THE FACT THAT SHE REALLY LOVED THE BOY FROM THE MARKETPLACE, EVEN THOUGH SHE ACTS TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED WHEN HE LIES AND SAYS THAT IT WASN'T HIM. ("I even send servants to go to the marketplace for my servants! It couldn't have been me آپ met"...Jasmine: *sighs sadly* "No, I guess not.") Aladdin is clearly so self-absorbed he can't even pick up on what جیسمین, یاسمین wants. He just assumes and takes over.

Finally, let's cut to Prince Ali (Reprise).
جیسمین, یاسمین finally discovers Aladdin has been lying the whole time (revealed سے طرف کی Jafar, although that scene confuses me; Aladdin already lied and کہا he dressed up as a سٹریٹ, گلی چوہا to escape palace life, so how would دکھانا him in سٹریٹ, گلی چوہا clothes reveal anything? Wouldn't جیسمین, یاسمین just see the clothes as his disguise clothes? but I digress.. ) So now (somehow) she REALLY knows that he really is poor, and that he's been nonstop lying to her this whole time, as well as totally ignoring her گیا پڑھا مرتبہ and wants like everyone else, and to سب, سب سے اوپر it all off, he already KNEW what she wanted (freedom and someone to understand her and not assume things about her), and should understand perfectly as that's what Aladdin wants to. But he is the worst, as he does understand but acts the opposite, because of totally shallow views.
When Aladdin returns to rescue them all, there's no conflict with جیسمین, یاسمین being upset at him, yelling at him for lying so many times, یا most preferably, getting fed up at him being so shallow, a liar, and basically treating her like crap. Instead, she just immediately welcomes him back and it's like nothing happened. There's no inner conflict, no attitude, she's just excited to see him and it's as if this girl who supposedly is supposed to not be pray to horrible men just keeps falling for his lies, یا willing herself to believe them, regardless of the implications یا non-logic. She's turned into a weaker girl than any of the princesses at that point. What? آپ lose major, MAJOR points for me there, Jas.

On سب, سب سے اوپر of all this, Aladdin treats his دوستوں like crap. He takes total advantage of Abu (who can be a pain but that's no reason to be rude), AND especially Genie, who shows nothing but kindness to Aladdin, and to who Aladdin keeps abusing and taking advantage of. Whenever anyone, especially the Genie, tries to offer him advice, he yells/snaps at them ("Buzz off!") and acts incredibly self-absorbed.

Aladdin is also so down on himself , the whole thing about him not being worthy of anyone
but then sings "There's so much مزید to me" and says "I'm not worthless!". Its like he's both trying to prove himself, but he's self-pitying when it's convenient for him. He always wants to be the victim.

I wouldn't be so bothered سے طرف کی all of this if Aladdin had changed in the end, but he didn't. He's still the same Aladdin. He never apologizes for his actions, except fleetingly, and to Abu, ("I'm sorry Abu, this is all my fault, I've gotta go back and set things straight.") when he should be apologizing to Genie & Jasmine. His transformation is condensed to one sentence- "I gotta stop trying to be something I'm not." آپ never see any REAL transformation. And in the sequels & the TV shows he continues to boss Genie around and lie and lie again and again and again, apologizes everytime, and goes back to lying again. The cycle is this:

Aladdin: *lies*
Jasmine: *gets upset*
Aladdin: *depressed and says sorry*
Jasmine: *forgives him*

And the cycle repeats. Over and over. I'm neutral towards/ dislike Aladdin in the first movie, but in the sequels I honestly hate him. I won't get into discussing how he's so much worse in the sequels, but let's just say 'Out of Thin Air' has to be one of the most condescending and disrespectful things Aladdin's ever said/sang, although I like the song.

I can't forgive Aladdin for all the things I named. Assumptions, being shallow, rude to his friends, but most of all- NEVER LEARNING HIS GODDAMN LESSON.
And جیسمین, یاسمین can't be in my سب, سب سے اوپر 3. I love her attitude, probably the thing she gets criticized most for and is actually the best part about her, but her actions I find hypocritical and weak.

And that's why I don't like Aladdin.

Okay so I really want to do this, but I really am not going to explain why. Because, well, I believe there is مزید to liking a princess than just looks. But other than that, I just feel like I'm just going to keep saying "oh she's so pretty" یا "I just never found her attractive" over and over again in different words. So, I'm sorry for not leaving a description.

I probably should've put this مضمون on the Fanpop پرستار club, but this club has been my ہوم for years. It's where I've made a lot of memories, have been part of a community that talks about مزید than just Disney Princesses, has felt like a family, and has helped me A LOT through the years. So this مضمون being published anywhere else on Fanpop won't do any justice if it's not on this club. So without further delay, here is what being on Fanpop has meant to me.

First of all, it's only fair to say that I did NOT get off to a good start when I first came here. It's embarrassing to talk about...

Hi everyone, I'm ApplesauceDoctr here today with a short مضمون that's purely for fun. A while back I گیا کیا پوسٹ a سروے where I associated some of the mushrooms in the game Plants vs. Zombies with the DPs, and now I wanted to expand on that while also providing some brief reasoning for my choices. Note that I'll be generalizing these characters quite a bit here, mostly looking at just one quality. This is all in good fun though, so let's begin! I'm actually going to start off with an unofficial princess:

Puff Shroom: Sofia (Sofia the First)
Sofia is the youngest and consequently smallest of...

Hi everyone, for those of آپ who don't know, both فلمیں share a common theme with each other that I notice! Aside from being the most highest grossing فلمیں ever, here's my review base on my observations.

Titanic

In case آپ guys might be watching the movie, during the scene where Jack and Fabrizio are playing poker just moments before the ship takes off. The 2 characters to whom they challenge are 2 Swedes name Olaf and Sven, when I watch this scene for the first time in many years. I keep thinking that the 2 Swedes are going to transform into a snowman and reindeer respectively!

 Which is your favourite?
Which is your favourite?
Since Korean entertainment has dominated the whole of Asia, here are the Disney Princesses' favourite Korean dramas and why they love it!

Iris (Mulan & Shang)

This Korean drama is about spying and espionage, this drama reminds me of both Mulan and Shang because it teaches them about spying.

My Princess (Rapunzel & Flynn)

Although the story is very similar to the Princess Diaries, Rapunzel did not find out that she is a princess until later of the story.

Winter Sonata (Elsa, Kristoff & Anna)

As the عنوان mentions, this drama is very old but it suits the trios. Both stories are set...

Today I'll be thinking of who'd come out champion in a fight of the Disney Princesses, first I'll be thinking of their advantages and disadvantages. Also I'm ignoring the obvious, their kingdoms.

Snow White:
A: Has All The Forest Animals and the Seven Dwarves in her will, won't be fighting, she'd just be saying the commands for them, she does have her ways of getting people to do what she wants. She's very organized too
D: She is easily sabatoged and gullible. And forest animals aren't the strongest of animals. Besides she has no magic سے طرف کی her side

Cinderella:
A: It isn't easy to make her pissed...

It's just an Easter Egg.Nothing more,nothing less.
I know that after people have noticed that little Easter egg in Frozen since it was released, many have developed the same theory. However,I do not agree with it and will give an explanation as to why. The theory with which I do not agree has to do with that brief moment in the film. Yes,by now, I think every major Frozen پرستار knows about and has seen the quick cameos of Rapunzel (with her short, brown hair) and Eugene (or Flynn,if Tangled شائقین still want to call him that) when Anna passes سے طرف کی them during "For the First Time in Forever." From seeing these two Disney Princesses together in the same...

My فہرست hasn't changed all that much but I thought after rewatching Aladdin I would write an updated list.

13. Merida- Not a fan, I'm all for female empowerment but I don't like her attitude. She is just so rude & I do not find her likeable.

12. Elsa- She just really bugs me. I can't think of any other reasons but she just aggravates me.

11. Anna- Not keen on her either. She is not as bad as the other two but I'm not a fan, moving on.

10. Tiana- She is too much of a workaholic. I get that she has dreams to run her own restaurant but she can have fun once in awhile.

9. Jasmine- جیسمین, یاسمین has really...

Thought this was really the perfect time for this light read considering which months I think each DP represents the best. :D I did this based on personality and my perception of how those personalities relate to the 4 seasons as well as each month. I hope آپ guys enjoy! My apologies to non-Americans as this is heavily based on my American connotations with these months especially in regards to American holidays. Hope آپ guys don't mind!

Here's my فہرست of Disney Princess couples, it's primarily based on what connected with me in their relationship and what i find admirable. I do have some ifs and buts with few couples but that's just my way of looking at how a relationship grow

1. Mulan and Shang:
Theirs a relation that I actually look up to with great admiration and respect. They both were mature to handle a relationship before falling for each other. Their love grew out of mutual trust, understanding and respect rather than romantic feelings. It is to not say that romantic feelings are not true یا valuable, it's my personal...

Because I am still in a musical mood but also ready for the "autumn/Halloween" mood, I'd like to incorporate the two! There aren't many DP villain songs مجموعی طور پر but I came up with at least 9 that were good enough to use for the sake of this countdown. I rated each of the songs against how villainous the lyrics were, how villainous the موسیقی sounds, how villainous the scene that accompanies the song in the film is and how villainous is the goal of the villain (or just the villain itself) singing the song? I ranked each song in the 4 categories and then ranked them مجموعی طور پر سے طرف کی accumulative "evil"...

Okay so I tried to seek others' opinions for this who connect with Merida مزید than I do. I realized that there are مضامین on here for the ranking of every princess except for Merida and I didn't think there should be any reason for her to be excluded. I always found these مضامین to be so neat though so I hope the Merida-fans will appreciate this. I'm completely open to any changes with مزید input.

12. Aurora: General consensus seems to be that Merida would get along with Aurora the absolute least, most likely for their opposite in characters. Aurora rates duty, grace/manners, love/romance...
