Nah they'd be treated the same. I just don't see Charming as rude now, so I don't think him being a girl would change anything.

Totally. People would praise Princess Charming because they'd think she's independent and feminist for not liking the whole idea of having to meet all those suitors.

Yes, a thousand times yes. I may not like Jasmine so much, but I can see that she was in the exact situation as Charming, but he gets more hate for rolling his eyes than Jasmine does for making her tiger go after him.

I agree with Audrey. Plus, I think people would like Cinderella more if she was a male, especially girls.

Another dichotomy. We're forced to either agree with your one view or say "no" entirely.

First, I've never heard Charming called rude for rolling his eyes. Second, if Charming was a princess, I think "she" would have been viewed as rude, bitchy, ungrateful, not willing to give perfectly nice guys a chance, etc for rolling her eyes same as Charming. So that's out.

HOWEVER, I still think Cinderella and Charming would be viewed differently if different genders. "Cinder-fella" (or whatever his name was) wouldn't be bashed for being weak, codependent, anti-feminist, etc. for trying to go to a ball or fall in love with a princess.

I disagree! I think if Cinderella was a guy, he'd be bashed even more for being weak and a pushover! Being a pushover is usually the first thing people don't like about Cinderella, and guys are traditionally expected even more to be assertive, strong, driven, etc. Cinderfella would be viewed as not manly at all and wouldn't get any sympathy, and the story would not work.
