You know longing for love and company is more relatable than longing to seeing lights is more relatable for the majority. But I am obsessed with luminous garlands and when I was seroiusly ill during Christmas holidays I was incredibly sad because of my enability to walk the streets and see the light of luminous garlands in the windows of various houses.
I love both girls. Rapunzel is my #3. If Anna were a DP, I would rank her as #4.

I don't necessarily agree with any of these. I actually find each Frozen character to be an example of rushed development and bad screenwriting. Frozen was a huge success monetarily for Disney, but to me, it made me like Disney a lot less than I used to.

I get what you mean (Rapunzel is definitely way too good at everything she does) but I don't see Anna as incompetent. She's quite intelligent in a body-kinesthetic sense, she figures out how to rescue Kristoff on the sleigh with ingenuity and very quick thinking. She also is pretty much the only person in the entire movie who even tries to use a little emotional intelligence which ultimately saves the day.

But yes, it's her abundance of flaws (naivety, temper, impulse, wearing her heart on her sleeve) and lack of any one major talent like almost every DP has that make her so realistic and relatable.

I agree with wavesurf here. All characters from Frozen suffered from rushed development and bad screenwriting. There are many things I find annoying about Anna. One of them was her decision to marry someone she just met. It's that she did it-it's how she responded whenever someone told her she shouldn't get engaged to someone she just met. She lashes out and yells that it's true love, like an immature ten year old. So when Hans revealed his true colors (which didn't make any sense but that is for another topic), even though I felt sorry for her , another part of me was like "Well Anna, maybe if you had listened to Elsa in the first place, this wouldn't happen! It's your own fault that you put your sister and kingdom in danger!"
I also don't see how Anna is realistic. Her personality scares me. What 18 year old acts like her? Maybe if Anna was a child (like 11 or 12 years old), then maybe I'd find her personality less annoying. All 18 year olds I met were more like the other Disney girls (mainly Rapunzel, Belle, Ariel, Moana, Pocahontas, Merida, and Cinderella).

I find Rapunzel to be more relatable by a little bit, but both Rapunzel and Anna are the princesses I relate the most to.

Rapunzel's dream to see the lights may not be relatable in the sense that we may not want to find lanterns that float in the sky, but everyone has a dream and they wonder if it is all that they dream it will be just like Rapunzel did. That light is symbolic of her dreams and the truth of who she is.

Being kidnapped isn't relatable to a lot of people, but having a mother or other parent that puts you down to make themselves feel better is relatable. A parent that makes you feel that you can't be loved and are not capable of taking care of yourself is relatable.
