I feel this series is going to focus on the doctor changing points in history as episode 4 takes place before 3 so Timey wimey must happen.I feel the doctor is going to change points and basically ending up with time lords back.
This two parter keeps sounding better. I thought it would be using an idea run-dry but now, I am not so sure - it just sounds so innovative.
Certain events will take place throughout the Series which the Doctor will undo. But these events which got changed might be revealed to be fixed points, which explains the disappearing streets in Ep 10 (as a result of time collapsing on itself). One of those events could well be Clara\'s death which the Doctor initially undid, but considering it is revealed to be a fixed point, the Doctor has to rectify all the damage he has done (including letting Clara die in Ep 10) - which consequently explains the Capaldi one-hander in Ep 11.
Is that the Fisher King in the above pic? Looks like he\'s a water-bender of some sort :P
So, my understanding of these episodes. As far as a timeline goes, part 2 takes place before part 1. My guess is the doctor arrives at the base under the lake and notices that after the people die, they become ghosts. Everything goes terribly wrong and the doctor and Clara are the only ones who survive. Still unsure about why it is that people are becoming ghosts, the doctor goes back in time to the same place, and notices that it is actually not a lake, but dry land.
Part 2 then revolves around the doctor trying to learn why people are becoming ghosts. It is also in this part that the fisher king is revealed, and as was seen in the promo, floods the town around him thus causing the future lake. It is my guess that the doctor "breaks the rules" and changes the future by destroying the fisher king before it is too late.
First Bors now the Fisher King, Both Arthurian legends seeking or obtaining the Holy Grail. It seems like a strange coincidence
@Polyphase Could we be getting some sort of followup to Battlefield?
Come to mention it, they were from a different universe right? And Gallifrey is in one... Oooooooooooh...
@Dalekchris  You never know with Moff, He\'s a devil that one :)
@The Finn loves the Special Weapons Dalek! Unfourtunately, Radio Times spoiled that too...
@DenisL @The Finn loves the Special Weapons Dalek! Luckily I haven\'t read that :)
I fell like this isn\'t a two parter. The first is about a underwater base and the second one is about the fisher king.
@DoctorWho5674 there\'s definitely a correlation between the two though
This could turn out to be one of those stand alone gems, It\'s about time Toby wrote a really good story :)
I\'ll be honest, the story doesn\'t have my interest yet. Of course what ends up on screen may do.
I have a really good feeling about this two parter.
@JoshThomas Wow I didn\'t notice before. He voiced Darth Maul!!
The Mirror needs to stop being right. It is getting annoying.
But this two parter is growing on me. Before, it sounded pretty Hide-esque. Now, it sounds innovative and futuristic.
@Other Dave was told not to eat the marbles... Let\'s hope it\'s nothing like Hide. That episode was good, but not very scary.
@Other Dave was told not to eat the marbles... Yep. Just like many other Series 7B stories.
@Other Dave was told not to eat the marbles... What kind of world is this when you can trust the tabloids now!?
My thoughts exactly. It had the makings of a good story, but it was just handled badly.
@Edoe @supermoff If you refresh now it should say "Before the Flood". For some reason it said Beyond before.
@supermoff SILENT_ANGEL I WASN\'T GOING MAD SEE! Thank you supermoff, I was panicking for a second.
Doesn\'t sound that exciting to me, but we\'ll see.
This second part doesn\'t sound like its even Part 2 to Part 1, it feels like a whole different plot and episode, however I think the link will be the Fisher King, or the place that he\'s trying to drown, for all we know the place he drowns is where the Underwater Base ends up setting up :D I\'m so excited for this episode
@TheDoctorConnor That\'s what I was thinking too. I assume it will be linked somehow. Also Brain Minchin says the story is set 300 years before Under The Lake.
Wow. This is very intriguing. Doesn\'t sound anything like "Under the Lake".
Looks like another corker of a two parter. Early reviews are also excellent for these two. I love the theme of the Doctor doing \'unthinkable things\'. Stakes this year really feel huge and we know that there are also consequences. The monster is seriously creepy and the ghost things - eek. Whithouse is excellent at dialogue and how characters interact so should be a good un. Looks like an unrivalled great start to a series.
But, er, in all seriousness, this synopsis sounds absolutely wonderful!
Wow, sounds fascinating! This two parter has really spiked my interest now!
@Silent_Angel, The Author of Anguish Me too! This whole series is giving me excited shivers!
Oh no, Fisher King- a rival vegetarian fast food chain putting Burger King out of business, the inevitable (food) chain of events...
