Chapter 14: Wager


I entered the house to find Emmett and Jasper absorbed in a video game, with Alice perched on the سوفی, لٹانا flipping through a magazine.

“You’re ہوم early,” Jasper observed, never taking his eyes off the ویژن ٹیلی screen.

“I couldn’t possibly hunt anymore,” I explained. “Plus, I was hoping to be there when Bella arrived home, since she forgot her phone.”

“She isn’t ہوم yet,” Alice said. “Or at least, I can’t see her yet. She could be ہوم and the dog is still there, I guess.”

“ Either way, I think I’m going to wait for her over there.”

When I woke up I went to the window and looked outside. It was کالے گھنے بادل, چھانا and windy. In other words it was a perfect day, and I wouldn’t have to go to school without Edward. He left and I was ready when he picked me up.
