Why do so many people call Evanescence an emo band?

Yes... It is an emo band. But there is nothing wrong with that not everyone has to be emo to listen to them. There voice alone is enough to make them want to love there music. And amy lee is emo u can tell سے طرف کی the way she dresses and wears her hair but is that her natrual hair color??

theyre acually alternative rock but I do understand why people call them emo because back before the bnd splitup (and rejoined) amy lee had a tough time and did ecome 'emo' self harming and stuff because she was under pressure and things but now she isnt like that ny مزید and is happy wth who she is but i guess it just stuck because of her depression for period of time back then

*scratches head* Do آپ know what the true definition og "emo" موسیقی is? Not what these posers that mimic one another and try to call themselves "goth subculture" - but true emo music? (don't get me started on emos are not goths)

Emo موسیقی is a تقسیم, الگ کریں from punk that started in the mid to late 80s - the موسیقی is loud, hard and has soft whispering lyrics. NOTHING like Evanescense.

At best they are Dark Rock. Many people class them as goth but Amy says she would describe them as alternative.

And certainly nothing near Emo... in the big scheme of things .. does it really matter?

Evanescence is bad پچھواڑے, گدا ... Amy Lee is a phenomenal song writer and singer ... and they are amazing. why do they have to be put into a label?

A lot of people falsely label Evanescence because:

#1 They're mainstream and many mainstream bands have as many haters as followers.

#2 They use gothic elements in their style of موسیقی like keyboards, atmosphere and female vocals and many people seem to connect gothic and emo as the same thing.

#3 Their lyrics (see above)

#4 A lot of people label anything that seems even slightly dark یا depressing as gothic یا emo.

I also don't get it!!! Evanescence isn't an emo band یا a goth band! Evanescence is a rock band with many different influences!
