Study on : The Maxson Family

Introduction:

Recently I’ve created a character only so that I could explore the Wasteland and discover everything there is to discover about it. I entered the Citadel, went to the Archives room and activated a terminal containing valuable information regarding the Maxson Family. On the following topics I’ll post everything I discovered about it, along with small تبصرے of mine. The information in this مضمون contained may یا may not be the same as in the والٹ Wikipedia, although I don’t really care (and want to learn سے طرف کی myself about Fallout’s history). Note that the information in this مضمون contained may relate to Fallout New Vegas’ history as well. Enjoy exploring the Fallout 3 world…

Roger Maxson:

DoB – NA
DoD – 2135

Roger Maxson was سیکنڈ in command of the security team stationed at the West Tek research facility, and was later relocated to the Mariposa Military Base.
He assumed command after the leader of the security team, Colonel Robert Spindel, had a nervous breakdown. He [Roger Maxson] executed scientists after learning of their research into the Forced Evolutionary Virus, یا FEV.
He was deserted from military just before the war. He ordered the families of all base personnel brought inside the researching facility, saving their lives.
Maxson’s wife was killed during the Exodus of the survivors – led سے طرف کی Roger himself – to the Lost Hills bunker.
At Lost Hills, Roger formed the famous BROTHERHOOD OF STEEL, and being the first High Elder, he formed the Orders of Paladins, Knights and Scribes.

Comments:

This Maxson guy is clearly very important. Roger Maxson.
West Tek was one of the largest defense contractors in the employ of the US.
The Mariposa Military Base was a top-secret U.S military facility built to guard the FEV (Forced Evolutionary Virus) research, previously conducted at the West Tek. That is what I read. The Great War started on October 23, 2077, when all nations – in the Fallout world – that possessed nuclear weapons launched their nuclear weapons at each other. The main nuclear-capable nations were: USSR, China and USA.

Maxson II

DoB – NA (teenager of unspecified age in 2077)
DoD – 2155

Roger Maxson, founder of the Brotherhood of Steel, died, in 2135, which lead to the taking over of the command سے طرف کی his son, Maxson II. Roger died of cancer.
In 2155, Marxson II was hunting down a group of Raiders known as the Vipers, and was perforated سے طرف کی a poisoned arrow. The وائپر, واپار poison killed him within hours.

Comments:

Roger Maxson – creator of the Brotherhood of Steel. His son was Maxson II, who assumed command when he died of cancer in 2135. Cool. The Brotherhood of Steel found throughout the Capital Wasteland is just a small fragment of the whole body. They are stationed in the Citadel, built on سب, سب سے اوپر of the Pentagon, because the پینٹاگون, گون contained advanced technology, and that is why they are in the Capital Wasteland: looking for advanced technology (maybe that’s why آپ have to find out about the G.E.C.K during the main quest) and helping against the Super Mutants.

John Maxson

DoB – 2097
DoD – NA

He is son of Marxson II and grandson of John Marxson – the one who started it all (the Brotherhood). At the age of 38, due to being a gifted soldier, John Maxson was promoted to Paladin, in 2135 (when his grandfather died of cancer and his father assumed command of High Elder). Soon after, he was promoted to Head Paladin.
Due to his father’s death during a battle against the Vipers, John Maxson took over the position of High Elder, in 2155.
At the age of 65, in 2162, records indicate that he, John Maxson, had some dealings with a mysteriours person named “Vault Dweller”.

Comments:

Interesting. I’ve heard of this “Vault Dweller” before, in the game. Maybe if I see his name, I will stop and look for information if there is any!

Scribe Arthur Maxson

DoB – 2267
DoD – NA

He is the only son of John and Jessica. It is important to highlight the fact that he was the last of the Maxson bloodline.
As a child, he was sent to the Citadel, in the Capital Wasteland, to be fostered سے طرف کی the Elder of the place, Elder Owyn Lyons. There were two reasons for this:

1.) The Western Brotherhood of Steel suffered an internal conflict, and therefore Arthur was located at an unsafe environment. Despite being located at a hostile territory, in the presence of Super Mutants and the danger that the Capital Wasteland guards, the Citadel was the best place for him to survive.

2.) Elder Owyn Lyons, at that time, was in high favor with the Elders from the West, and could provide care and training to the Squire.

Apparently, events led to a problem in communication with the Westen Elders. This meant that Squire Arthur Maxson would remain in the Citadel during an undefined period of time.

Comments:

Never seen this Arthur. Should check out the Citadel. Must be a scribe, and working in one of the Rings…who knows?

State of Maxson

It is located in the New California Republic, built close to the Lost Hills bunker, where Maxson escorted the survivors to. It was protected سے طرف کی the Brotherhood of Steel.

Comments:

Need to find out about this bunker. I have read Maxson’s diaries and read all about the Exodus to the bunker, but should know مزید about it. Does Fallout New Vegas have this Lost Hills bunker?

Fallout 3 was initially under development سے طرف کی Black Isle Studios, a studio owned سے طرف کی Interplay Entertainment, under the working عنوان وین Buren. Interplay Entertainment closed down Black Isle Studios before the game could be completed, and the license to develop Fallout 3 was sold for a $1,175,000 minimum guaranteed advance against royalties to Bethesda Softworks, a studio primarily known as the developer of the The Elder Scrolls series.[3] Bethesda's Fallout 3 however, was developed from scratch, using neither وین Buren code, nor any other materials created سے طرف کی Black Isle Studios. In May 2007, a playable technology demo of the canceled project was released to the public.[4]
While Fallout and Fallout 2 feature turn-based combat and top-down isometric view in a 2-D engine, Fallout 3 features real-time combat and first یا third person view in a 3-D engine. Fallout Tactics and the canceled وین Buren featured both turn-based and real-time combat and a top-down view.
Perks and Traits have been merged. In Fallout and Fallout 2, Traits were chosen at character creation, and were commonly a combination of a powerful advantage and a potent disadvantage, where Perks were purely advantageous.
In the SPECIAL character system, the number of skills has been reduced from 18 to 13, traits have been removed and perks are selected every level instead of every 3 to 4 levels.

The Karma system is an important feature in Fallout's gameplay. A player's actions, including conversation and combat choices, affects the player's status in the game world; a player who makes good decisions is received مزید positively سے طرف کی non-player characters, and a player that makes bad decisions has the opposite reaction. Crimes can also be committed سے طرف کی a player, and whichever faction یا group that is harmed سے طرف کی a crime are fully aware of the player's action in most cases. Other factions that were not affected سے طرف کی the crime will not be aware of it, and since a town is usually its own faction,...

Not actually a fat man, which would in its own way be hilarious, the Fat Man is a "shoulder-mounted tactical nuclear catapult." In layman's terms, that means it's a hand held weapon that basically shoots nuclear bombs at people. It should certainly incinerate your target, but do be warned, there's a high possibility it will also incinerate everything around it (including your mates and possibly yourself), as well as leaving residual radiation.

The name comes from the سیکنڈ atomic bomb that was dropped on Japan in 1945. Unsurprisingly, in the game's Japanese release, this had to be changed, with the Fat Man becoming the Nuka Launcher in the Land of the Rising Sun. In Japan, the side quest whereby آپ can choose to detonate the atomic bomb in the town of Megaton was also removed from the game.

The Vault-Tec Assisted Targeting System, یا V.A.T.S., plays an important part in combat. While using V.A.T.S., real-time combat is paused, and action is played out from varying camera angles in a computer graphics version of "bullet time", creating a combat system that the Bethesda developers have described as a hybrid between turn-based and real-time combat. Various actions cost action points, limiting the actions of each combatant during a turn, and the player can target specific body areas for attacks to inflict specific injuries; head shots can be used for quick kills یا blinding, legs...

We've had a few complaints about how NMA has no impression piece up yet. But, sadly, we are not going to put up an impression piece until we've had the chance to play through the game well and proper, digested our impressions to put down some thoughts. Expect the NMA review anywhere from 3 to 5 weeks from now, and no earlier. That's not to say we're not going to editorialize, but we're in no rush (sorry).

The guy writing the NMA review - Vince D. Weller - happens to just have finished a kind of Let's Play thread with the first 5 days of Fallout 3 and his thoughts on it. For your enjoyment and...

Fallout 3 is a post-apocalyptic computer and console semi-open ended, action role-playing game developed and published سے طرف کی Bethesda Softworks as the third installment in the Fallout series and a sequel to Interplay's Fallout and Fallout 2. It was released on October 28, 2008 in North America, on October 31, 2008 in Europe and on December 4, 2008 in Japan. It is available on the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
The game takes place in the سال 2277, 200 years after the Great War, on the East Coast of what used to be the United States of America, mostly in Washington, DC, Southwest Maryland, Eastern Pennsylvania and Northeast Virginia. The game play features include real-time combat and first یا third person perspective, in contrast to the گزشتہ games, which were turn-based and isometric.
The case of Broken Steel, however, seems to be an exception to the rule. Aside perhaps from Mass Effect 2's Arrival – whose effects on your Mass Effect 3 playthrough are yet to be revealed – never have I found DLC that is fundamental to my understanding of a game's overarching story. And that's got to be a good thing.

Of course, not every single game out there is long enough to justify premium post-release content. If a developer releases DLC on سب, سب سے اوپر of a game that's just way too short, I feel like I'm being ripped off, because why couldn't this content have been included in the main release?...

"It's not an action game. It's a role-playing game.", Todd Howard

Todd Howard seems to think so, but then again, Todd seems to think a lot of things. Some of them may even be true. Leaving the obvious سوال "why did the magazine file Fallout 3 under "action RPG"?" aside, let's take a look at what the presentation of this role-playing game was focused on. For example, how many dialogue screens were shown in those 10 pages? Zero. Wouldn't آپ think that dialogues are an important Fallout element that the presentation should have mentioned, if not focused on? Apparently not. How many quests were explained in details, دکھانا the design and them moral, game-changing choices? Once again, Bethesda follows the Oblivion formula: focus on the visuals and HAWT AKSHUN, assure people that quests and dialogues are superb and awesome in seven different ways, but دکھائیں nothing to back up these claims.

When I saw Fallout 3 at last year's E3 I thought it looked cool but not being one of the cult of Fallout, I viewed it with the same sort of interest that I do most games I know nothing about: Curious, but not what I would call overly excited. All this changed however, this past Tuesday when I headed downtown to check out the new build of the game that Bethesda was دکھانا off.

From a training system tied to a child's development to the fifties-meets-Steampunk look of weapons, Fallout 3 may not have a solid تاریخ yet, but after seeing this build, I can honestly say I am well and truly smitten....

In fact, many of the 360 version's Achievements will be about acquiring these different titles as آپ progress - getting all the Achievements is almost impossible in just one playthrough, particularly due to the nature of quests in Fallout 3.

ALMOST impossible? آپ mean like "it will be very hard to become the head of all Oblivion guilds" right? Anyway, the مضمون insists that the game will be loaded with choices & consequences, branching quests, and other role-playing goodness, but, sadly, no examples are given. Considering Bethesda's fondness to make shit up in order to sell مزید copies,...

The player can have a maximum party of three, consisting of the player's character, a dog named Dogmeat, and a single non-player character. Dogmeat can be killed during the game if the player misuses him یا places him in a severely dangerous situation and he cannot be replaced (this was changed with the introduction of Broken Steel: the level 22 "Puppies!" perk allows the player to gain a کتے follower if Dogmeat dies);[18][19] it is possible to not encounter Dogmeat at all depending on how the game is played.[20] One other NPC can travel with the player at any time, and in order to get another NPC to travel, the first one must be dismissed (either voluntarily سے طرف کی the player یا as a consequence of other events) یا die in combat.

I walked into a rundown store somewhere deep in the wasteland. Gripped in my hands was a freshly stolen Submachine Gun, which I was awarded with after killing Dukov and his "girls". It's what I do. There were loads of radroaches crawling all over the place. So, just for the sport of it, I shot each and every one of them in the face. Guts splattered everywhere, and their bacteria-ridden bodies flew into the air. "Yummy," I took all of their meat and went in تلاش for Nuka-Cola, یا maybe some psycho.
I found an easy-locked محفوظ tucked away in a corner. Checking if I had some leftover bobby-pins,...
