None of these really. I don't monitor whether someone has fanned me back or not, and if I did happen to notice that someone hadn't, I'd be more likely to assume that they hadn't been on Fanpop or hadn't gotten around to fanning me back.

@Flickerflame What kind of an answer is that?! Aren't you at least a little bit worried that somebody doesn't like you on this site? I know it makes me very sad everytime when people don't want to fan me back for no reason at all.

I agree with FlickerFlame. Not to mention in this scenario I'm the one who doesn't fan back cuz then I feel like I'll have to fan all 300 people who fanned me but that doesn't mean that I don't like someone. They are still my friends.

It makes me mad like hell! Why would somebody hate me, if they never even met me?!? It makes no sense to me! I always fan people back, even now, when I'm on my honeymoon, in Egypt.

It makes me feel hurt. We're not just some pretty pictures from our user icons, we're all people of flesh and blood, and people have feelings. If somebody doesn't like me for no reason, then I know I would feel hurt deep down inside.

None. I dont usually fan people and I dont follow what people fan me. Since there was situations where one person fanned me then unfanned and it goes like for 10 times.
Beside it's not like you know those ppl to feel hurt or sad.

None of these. It's their right. I personally don't add people I haven't talked to or at least seen around first. In the past I've had people add me only to spam my wall, troll me, or (at worst) send me creepy messages. So I wait until I have at least a conversation with the person.

For that I respect others who do the same.

That and, like flicker said, odds are that person might not even be online.

Okay so I'm getting the sense here that people are equating not fanning back as someone not liking or personally attacking you. I don't think that you guys have anything to worry about! Not adding a person back doesn't mean that a person hates you. It simply (typically) means that they just don't know you yet. In some cases (like mine lol) it could even mean that they are too lazy to add you back. NGL I've seen that I had 1 message in my inbox but was too lazy to check.

A person not adding you doesn't mean that they hate you or want to make you feel bad.

For me, fanning someone means that we have some interests/clubs in common, and that I like some of their contributions or agree with some comments I've seen them make. It doesn't make us friends. It definitely doesn't mean that I hate that individual, so I don't interpret someone not fanning me as meaning that they hate me. I think some of those who've answered this take Fanpop too personally.

I have only fanned a few people first and at least have did not fan me back. When people fan me I fan them back because it used to be a big deal to collect fans. But many times people fanned me I fanned them back and then they unfanned me. I don't get invested in fan count as you can probably tell from how few I have.

It doesn't bother me. I don't spend much time on FanPop anymore anyway, and honestly, it's not a big deal. It's their choice whether to fan me or not. If they fan me and then later on remove me, no big deal. People's interests change, etc.
