I don't think it's necessary. YouTube has this feature because that's a website specifically for videos. Fanpop is for videos and a range of other content.

I remember when there was a view counting on pictures and I think it was great, cause you could see how many people accessed what you uploaded, but I guess since people are not active anymore on this site, it wouldn’t be good to show the constant decline of popularity of what we upload :/
