"A WARNING" It کہا it was written in Aundre's blood. It was signed, "VINDEMIATRIX."

I sharply took in a breath, I could read it. This means, it was written in Rishima. We weren't alone. 'Could that really mean--' my thoughts were interrupted. "Hey big sister." someone کہا behind me. I whipped around, "Who are you?" I stood up and took a step closer , as if to threaten her.

*

"Vindemiatrix," I bowed mockingly my hair swung down and almost scraped the sand, "call me, Vindemiatrix." She stared at me astonished, I could tell that she recognized the name even though she didn't know me. "Capella, sent me." I lied. "How do آپ know her?" she asked me. I smiled in an evil way. My golden eyes dancing like flames. I know how I must appear to her, the same way I do to everyone. My waist length pitch black hair that hung limply at my sides, my ivory colored skin that was in high contrast to my stunningly red lips, they made me fit the part I was playing beautifully. "She sent me," I continued, smiling maniacally, "because she heard that you'd been associating with humans." I glanced down at the boy. "A bit." My sister کہا defensively. My smile spread, almost naturally evil. "I've been keeping an eye on this--" I pointed a long claw at the terrified face of the boy, staring up at me. "Earth star." I smiled in incredibly brilliant smile barring my fangs. All of a sudden black claws shot out of my finger tips and my eyes went black, یا they must have been, something real came over me. It felt as though a tunnel was closing in around me. I would have been terrified if I could o felt anything. I couldn't feel at all. I was gone, but I knew what would come next.

*

It was like she wasn't even there any more, like something else was coming over her. "Kill the human!" she screeched in a voice that wasn't hers. This situation on the whole, was a complete mystery to me. She sped towards Aundre. I held her back, easily. I was stronger and faster. "Let me kill him." she pleaded desperately. "Why would آپ do something like that? I can obviously tell آپ hate humans but this is a bit far to go just to prove a point!" "Help me!" she cried. I bit her. It was the first thing that came to mind. "Ah!" she yelled. She fell back, her arm was bleeding. She looked severely in pain, but not because of my bite.

*

I woke up halfway, I couldn't control my actions. I was bleeding a lot and it made my wonder frantically what had happened. I dug my claws into the ground and tried to hold onto it. She reached out her hand and held me سے طرف کی the back of my neck. I relaxed slightly, "Help me," I begged, "please…" "What happened to you?" she asked, surprisingly calm دیا the circumstances. "I don't know…" I took a deep hard breath, and I was telling the truth. Tears dripped down my cheeks, though I could barely detect the feel of them. I felt so controlled, there's no other word for it. I was only half alive. "I will come after you." I said. "The curse, I can't help it…" these words weren't mine. "What curse?" She asked fiercely. "It's not me!" I yelled with all of my strength. "What's not you?" She demanded. "This!" I told her. I was in control of my words again. "I'll kill him. I will, I will!" I screeched mortified. "I will keep آپ both safe." She کہا sternly. To me as much as the boy. "Who did this?" She asked. "Vega." I replied gasping. It hurt so much to talk, even though I wasn't the one saying these things. "What did Vega tell آپ to do?" She asked, trying to calm me down. I was in no state to be calmed "Kill the boy." My words felt forced. I snapped out of it and instantly stood up. I didn't breathe, I began walking away. I wasn't being controlled, yet I couldn't do anything but what I was doing. I felt choked. My legs felt weak and I collapsed. The light around me kept narrowing down, as if I was tuning the word out. I saw the two blurring تصاویر of my sister and the boy hovering over me. I could hear the sounds, the sounds that no one else hears. I didn't hear their voices. I heard the air and the ocean, and nothing else. It suddenly felt as if the Earth itself was growing hotter. My vision that had been only a narrow beam of light that penetrated through the darkness quickly widened. I could see, sort of. Black spots were crawling over my eyes. Slowly the sounds of voices became distinguishable amongst the static of air and water. My fists clenched and I was suddenly aware of the sand underneath me, I sharply inhaled, I hadn't been breathing. I saw my sister breathe a sigh of relief, and I thought it was amazing that she could care about someone she didn't even recognize.

We’ve already rehearsed a few hunting techniques that we have used the other millions of times we’ve hunted. All of us start padding toward a heard of gazelle, detected سے طرف کی our smell and sight, about 2 miles away.
I drift to the front while Beck moves to my left and ہلکی پیلے, گڑگڑانا مزید behind to my right in a مثلث formation. Rockelle pads behind me as a backup while DJ takes up the rear. Demi is the youngest, so she’s stuck in the middle of our diamond-shaped formation of big, hungry cats.
All of us approach the herd with zipping speed and cleanly attack. I take down the leader’s mate, biting...

I knew it was coming.
I’ve broken
the law

It was inevitable.
I just wish I had
Mother,
Father,
and Violet
here to support me.

I can almost hear Mother’s
calm, smooth
voice, telling me It’ll be
alright.

I can almost feel Father's

squeezing reassuringly.

I can almost smell Violet’s
homemade سٹرابیری, اسٹرابیری perfume
as she buries her head
into my neck.

A final good-bye.

I don’t like good-byes because

they seem too formal.
I’d rather settle for

Anything but that.

I might die right

there.
CHAPTER 1

The only sound I could hear was the crackle of the آگ کے, آگ burning in the fireplace. I stared up at the purple Victorian canvas above my head. It is probably 5 in the morning, my eyes were so sore but I couldn't close them. I was very tired but I couldn't stop thinking about what happened after رات کے کھانے, شام کا کھانا last night.
It was around eight in the evening. My brother and I had just finished eating when out of the blue, Mr. Matinary stormed in demanding to talk to my brother at once. Mr. Matinary, a stocky man with dark hair who is a friend of my brothers he was holding...
