Marshal Lee stood there سے طرف کی the window, shocked to see the Fionna was standing behind him.
"Hey Marshal!" She answered to his stunned face.
"What are آپ doing here?" Marshal asked.
Fionna just laughed and smiled. "I live here! This is mine and Cake's house!"
Not that she mentioned it, it did look familiar… "Wait…" he began asking. "What am I doing here?"
"O, I was walking across the field when I saw some lump sitting in the middle of the grass. When I got closer, I saw it was a شرٹ, قمیض with a bat underneath it. I suspected it was you." She laughed at the thought of seeing Marshal asleep under his شرٹ, قمیض in the middle of nowhere.
"Oh. Um well, I guess I should get home. And thanks for letting me sleep here and bandaging my arm for me." He کہا back to her. As he turned around he saw Fionna run up in front of him and slam the window shut.
"No, you're not going anywhere." She کہا with her hands on her hips, looking stubbornly onto his eyes.
"And why the heck not?!" Marshal practically yelled. "I didn't die a سیکنڈ time, I slept enough and it's dark enough for me to fly back to my house, so what's the problem?"
Fionna pointed to his broken arm. "That," she answered. "That's the problem. It needs to heal properly before آپ leave." She frowned when she heard him groan in boredom.
"I'll heal faster since I'm a supernatural being, a vampire, so it'll heal real soon so just- OW!" he yelled. In mid sentence, Fionna bopped him in the arm, letting an immense amount of pain shocked throughout his entire limb. "What the hell is wrong with you?! That hurt!!" He hissed, holding his arm. Fionna looked at him with her arms crossed.
"My point exactly. Even though you're a vampire, it still hurts." She simply کہا with a deeper frown. Her face suddenly softened. "Besides, that's not the only reason why I don't want آپ to leave so soon…" she slowly added.
Marshal looked at her, confused. "…What's the other reason?" he asked after a silence.
Fionna's cheeks slightly turned into a slight گلابی color when she answered "You've been exploring Aaa for four years and I guess… I missed you."
Now it was Marshal's turn to blush. "She missed me? That's a first…" he thought to himself. Looking at her eyes, he saw that she was kidding at all. He looked to the ground and کہا "If that's the case, then I guess I can stay for a little longer if it keeps آپ from crying…" his face automatically heated again once he کہا those words. He looked up to see Fionna smiling warmly at him. Rubbing his neck and desperate to get out of the strange feelings he was experiencing, he asked "By the way, where's Cake?"
"She went out to get bandages for your arm and red things for آپ to eat. Why?" Fionna asked.
"Just curious" Marshal answered. "Wait, she's getting stuff for me? Is she not scared of me anymore یا something?" Marshal asked.
"I asked her the same thing, and she کہا that she realized a lot about vampires and that her fear was based on ignorance." Fionna remembered.
"Oh. That's pretty co-" Marshal was cut off.
"FIONNA!" Cake shouted from down stairs. "I got the food and bandages! And sorry it took me so long. The stupid دکان keeper wanted four سونا coins, so I had to haggle him to three."
Fionna and Marshal heard footsteps run up the stairs and into the room to see Cake pop in through the door, holding a bowl of red strawberries and apples in one arm, and a grey شرٹ, قمیض in the other. "Well look who's finally up!" Cake exclaimed. She walked over to Marshal who was still sitting in the بستر and laid the bowl in his lap. Marshal looked at the bowl and then to Cake's face. He could tell she still wasn't sure about him, but she was trying.
Marshal took an سیب, ایپل and drained the color from it in a matter of seconds. It had taste better than he had hoped. He looked back to Cake and کہا "Thanks! These taste great!"
Cake, relieved he hadn't done anything she would be scared of, smiled. "No problem."
Fionna was glad they were finally getting along with after the years of constant taunting and jeering. "Oh, Marshal, where did آپ visit in Aaa this time?" Fionna asked, wanting to hear anything interesting.
"Ummmm…. Well I went into the Jungle kingdom and fooled around with the tiger beasts. Then I stopped سے طرف کی the Crystal Kingdom and آگ کے, آگ Kingdom." Marshal remembered.
"Aaaaannnd????" Fionna was getting impatient.
"Nothing was new! Everything was the same as the last time I was there. It's always so boring…" Marshal complained as he adjusted the گوفن, جھلانا around his arm.
"o… now that I think about it, you've been alive for a long time, like 1000 years. Maybe more! So it might be hard to find any change in Aaa. Being a vampire must have some ups and downs." Fionna replied in awe.
Marshal suddenly got up and کہا "It's starting to get stuffy in here. I'm going to go outside for a while…." He walked out the door and down the stairs without looking at them, and without another word.
After hearing the door shut from below, Cake turned to Fionna with an angry look on her face and exclaimed "How rude! آپ see why I didn't like him in the first place?!"
"He seemed a little off…" Fionna کہا mostly to herself. "Like something I کہا bugged him."
"I'm sure he's just tired and sore from his arm." Cake replied to Fionna.
"Ya… Ya you're probably right." Fionna tried to sound definite, but her mind was still wavering.
"By the way, here are the bandages so he doesn't have to use his شرٹ, قمیض anymore. I'm tired of seeing him in that stupid white undershirt. Make him look مزید of a bum." Cake کہا in a irritated voice.
"Oh, thanks Cake." Fionna said, forced to leave her worries of Marshal and his sudden mood change.
"Uh huh." Cake replied as she walked towards her dresser-drawer bed. "I'm going to sleep. Don't let that Vampire come anywhere near me ok? And آپ be careful yourself."
Fionna laughed at Cake for being paranoid. "Don't worry. I won't let him do anything bad. Good night Cake."
"Good night Fi." Cake replied as she yawned and closed her eyes. In no time, she was sound asleep.
Marshal flew silently to the سب, سب سے اوپر of the درخت house and sat there. At first doing nothing then he flopped down onto his back. Looking up at the stars, he was battling in his own mind. "She doesn't get it! No one does! But… that's no reason I should be frustrated with her. No one really gets what my problem is anyway, especially since I never talk about it." Marshal's mind kept flooding with thoughts about what had just happened. He always joked and teased Fionna that being a vampire was better than anything else, but that was just his own lie he wanted to believe. "NO. I'm not going to think about that now, not again…" Marshal shook his head stubbornly to himself. Standing up, he decided to go and apologize for acting weird to distract himself.
Swooping down gently towards the door, he flew past the window that viewed Fionna's room. He looked in and saw Cake, stretched out and sleeping in the dresser drawer. But then something caught his eye. He saw Fionna sitting on her bed. She reached out toward her hat and pulled it away from her head, unleashing a long waterfall of her fair golden locks of hair and began brushing her curls. "Had she always looked like this?" Marshal began to thing. She was beautiful and graceful, and now mature. She had changed so much and Marshal had missed it. While he was fooling around and having a pat in Aaa, Fionna was here, saving everyone like she usually does, putting others' needs before her own. "When did she become so much مزید grown-up than me?" He turned away from the window, his دل beating fast and his face heating up. "I shouldn't be watching her from the window like some pervert! I came in to apologize!" he scolded himself. Taking a deep breath to let his face cool down, he flew back to the window and gently tapped on it.
Hearing a noise coming from the window, Fionna whirled around with her guard up, only to see Marshal with an uncomfortable look on his face. She stood up and walked slowly to the window, wondering what she should say to him. "Is he still mad at me? What should I say? What should I do?" Confusion kept flooding through her mind as she got to the window. She unlatched the hook and opened to window. Marshal silently flew in and headed for the stairs. "Let's go down stairs and talk since Cake is sleeping up here." He whispered. Fionna answered with a nod and followed him quietly down the stairs.
Marshal gently soared across the living room and onto the سوفی, لٹانا and sat while Fionna did the same, except the flying part. They sat silently اگلے to each other, thinking quietly about what to say to each other. Unable to handle the awkward silence, Fionna pulled out the bandages and turned to Marshal. Marshal then pulled the گوفن, جھلانا made from his شرٹ, قمیض over his head and off of his arm. He winced from the pain due to the lack of support on his bone. Fionna gently wrapped his arm, barely giving him any pain. Her hands were gentle, and warm. He could slowly feel a blush creep onto his face and looked away, pretending to be interested in the things around him. When she had finished, she straightened out his شرٹ, قمیض and handed it to Marshal. He had no problem getting it over his head and good arm, but he had trouble on his other. Fionna giggled and helped him pull on the شرٹ, قمیض over the wounded arm. After Marshal fixed it, he looked at Fionna, and she looked at Marshal. Their eyes met, and the discomfort began anew.
"Apologize to him for the thing that might have offended him… whatever it was I said." Fionna thought to herself in her head.
"Just apologize! That's the main reason آپ came in here in the first place right?!" Marshal scolded himself.
They both turned and looked at each other in the eyes. "I'm sorry that I-" they both کہا at the same time. Again they both کہا "Sorry I didn't mean to cut آپ off!" They stared at each other with surprised looks on their faces. A smile crept onto Marshal's face, and he began to laugh. Fionna joined him shortly after. They had to keep their laughing quiet with Cake sleeping upstairs, but it was so hard. Marshal and Fionna were holding their sides from laughter. When it had finally died down, they were smiling at each other.
"I really am sorry for saying what I said." Fionna told Marshal.
Marshal's smile faded, but it returned when he کہا "No. it wasn't that I was just tired and annoyed from this," he lifted his arm and pointed to it. "it didn't have anything to do with what آپ کہا to me."
"Oh! Ok!" Fionna cheerfully cried. She was relieved that she didn't hurt him in any way.
It hurt Marshal to see that she easily trusted him, even when he lied strait into her face. "There will be time when I tell her… I swear." He thought.
"Well," Fionna said, interrupting his thoughts. "I better get to bed." She strolled over to a closet and took out some blankets and handed them to Marshal. "In case آپ get cold." She explained.
Marshal nodded and began stretch out to relax on the سوفی, لٹانا when he saw something flying his way. He caught it and saw it was a bright red apple. He looked up and saw Fionna smiling tenderly at him. She turned and walked to the stairs that led up to her room. She stopped at the first step and turned to him and کہا "Welcome back, Marshal!"
