Riverrun filming delayed, sources رپورٹ 

filming scheduled to begin tomorrow in Corbet, Northern Ireland has been delayed, according to our sources.

The castle-and-drawbridge set in the County Down town has been under construction for the last few weeks, with tents and more structures springing up. The visible trout sigil over the entryway made it apparent that this must be Riverrun, the home of House Tully. More wooden structures have been built in front of the castle facade over the last week or so.

According to our sources, filming will not begin tomorrow because there have been some objections to a very, very large structure being built. It will have to be examined by local representatives to see if it broke the rules in the original planning application. Due to this, filming can’t begin on time. The next inspection will take place possibly on Tuesday, and hopefully, filming in Corbet for Riverrun will start after that.

There was no indication whether it was the castlefront facade itself that was the issue, another large piece of the set such as the drawbridge, or something else newly built.

An unfortunate delay, but hopefully everything gets sorted out quickly! Those of you hoping to spot a few Tullys around Northern Ireland tomorrow will just have to wait a few more days.

Well that’s it for the city of Corbet’s money train. As someone pointed out a few threads ago, if you aggravate the GoT team, you’re toast.

Any word on which regular cast member(s) is filming there? Any NCW sightings?

Clive Russell and Michelle Fairley are in Belfast. Yes, LSH is cut, but a cameo/vision is feasible.

No sightings there, it’s just a city near Belfast- you might get sightings IN Belfast, but then they might be filming at Titanic Studios. It’s not as easy to tell with this one as it is with a location like say, Almeria.

Anyone filming in Corbet is just going to drive over there that day.

As someone already said,say goodbye to this location being used in future seasons .

Well, I am hoping the GoT spies will have some pictures for us later this week.

All this talk of Riverrun reminded me of something I read on TWOIAF:

After the Conqueror’s death, it did not take long before challenges to the Targaryen rule emerged. The first of these was the bandit and outlaw called Harren the Red, who claimed to be a grandson of Harren the Black. With the help of a castle servant, Harren the Red seized both harrenhal and its current ruler, the infamous Lord Gargon (remembered as Gargon the Guest for his custom of attending every wedding in his domain to exercise his right to First Night). Lord Gargon was gelded in the castle’s godswood and left to bleed to death while Red Harren proclaimed himself Lord of Harrenhal and King of the Rivers.

All this took place while the King guested at Riverrun, the seat of the Tully’s. But by the time Aenys and Lord Tully moved to deal with this threat, they found Harrenhal empty, Gargon’s loyal men put to the sword, and Harren the Red and it’s followers returned to banditry

Is Blackfish going to pull a Red Harren (who’s, by the way, one of the coolest characters ever), only switching “Gargon” for Walder Frey and “Harrenhal” for Riverrun?

I live in Northern Ireland, and people roared at a beach being closed last year for Dorne scenes. They need to grow up. It’s not as if it’s permanent. It will be taken down after filming. So well done on delaying the time it gets taken down. I’d be thrilled if they built that beside me.
