Is my pet میں hamster, ہمزٹر dead یا hibernating??? Please answer ASAP as i am v.worried :0

my میں hamster, ہمزٹر died just over a ماہ پہلے and سٹار, ستارہ had her eyes open :.(

Well, none of my hamsters have ever hibernated. Did آپ check the میں hamster, ہمزٹر had a دل beat یا was breathing?
How old is the hamster?

But if it was frozen as in not moving then rigamortis may have set in (only if its dead).

My میں hamster, ہمزٹر went in to hibernation and we thought he was dead and buried him.So if he looks dead,keep him around for at least four hours

Pet hamsters don't hibernat as far as i konw. I lost my میں hamster, ہمزٹر just over 2 weeks ago. He was only 10 weeks old :(

i hate to say it but your right dwarfs are not known for hibernating so i would guess he died... im sorry

Hmmmm. Did آپ check if he/she was breathing?
If آپ JUST got the hamster, it is maybe scared یا settling in. If it is not doing any of the above, take it to a vet.

I know! I thought my میں hamster, ہمزٹر winkie died too :( i was At My دوستوں House and My dad left her outside because he کہا i was going to clean her when i got back.. Sadly when i Came back she was stiff,her eyes were open,But she was soft! My Mom helpes her سے طرف کی petting her and giving her water. And My dad کہا to burry her :( after 4 days ive Beenlooking in the internet if she really was dead :( then i found out that hamsters HIBERNATE! I Didnt know that ;( and i started to feelbad that i mustve burried her ALIVE!! Now im starting to think Its My fault i wasnt with her All the time... :,(

OMG! WELL, TO TELL IF YOUR میں hamster, ہمزٹر IS...DEAD..CHECK ITS دل BEAT IF U CAN یا CHECK ITS BODY TEMPERATURE ( سے طرف کی HOLDING IT یا FEELING IT). IF IT FEELS REALLY COLD, THEN IT MIGHT BE DEAD.BUT WHO KNOWS, MAYBE ITS JUST FEELING COLD. ANYWAY, آپ DID A GOOD JOB KEEPING IT WARM. GOOD LUCK!

if your میں hamster, ہمزٹر is dead it will be stiff and ears will be back and it will be cold if your میں hamster, ہمزٹر is hibernating it will be breathing softly and آپ will not see unless close

The same thing happened to my میں hamster, ہمزٹر a week ago, I'm sorry to say but it seems like your میں hamster, ہمزٹر may be dead.
A couple things to check for to make sure though...
(1) is it cold
(2) put food on front of its nose
(3) check for any movement and heartbeat

There are some bad جوابات on this thread so let me try to clarify. Hamsters can hibernate, but it is very rare. They can hibernate if they are too cold یا lack food یا water. A hibernating میں hamster, ہمزٹر may feel cold, but they hibernate with their eyes CLOSED like sleeping so your میں hamster, ہمزٹر was actually dead. Hibernating hamsters remain limp while a dead میں hamster, ہمزٹر will be limp at first and then turn stiff within hours. Many young hamsters die suddenly of دل failure which is hereditary. It is called hereditary cardiomyopathy in hamsters and is fairly common. I only know this because the same thing happened to my daughters میں hamster, ہمزٹر and I thought I had possibly buried a hibernating میں hamster, ہمزٹر so I feel your pain.

My daughter has a dwarf میں hamster, ہمزٹر and I came here to find out if he was dead یا sleeping and the stuff I read is not right. His eyes were open and we couldn't even tell if he was breathing یا not but I told her just to sit him on his tray for a cpl days and see if he moves. Cpl hours later, he's still in the same spot, has moved positions and he yawned a cpl times... def still alive.
