I'm just curious if this was some historical figure یا just a British term when Ron says something like MERLINS PANTS! And THE ORDER OF MERLIN FIRST CLASS. I hear a lot and I'm just wondering if anyone knows what it's referring to.
Merlin (768-1124) is commonly regarded as the founder of the modern Wizarding World. He is known throughout the globe among muggles and wizards alike for his sorcery, and is arguably the world's greatest and most famous wizard. He is also arguably the world's greatest and most famous muggle-born. Merlin's Beard!", "Merlin's Pants!", also "Merlin's baggy Y fronts!" are in reference to him.
Merlin is a legendary figure best known as the wizard featured in the Arthurian legend, and is based on an amalgamation of گزشتہ historical and legendary figures, such as Myrddin Wyllt, a North British madman with no connection to King Arthur, and the Romano-British war leader Ambrosius Aurelianus. Merlin is a old and powerful Wizard, he was supposed to be like a friend of King Arthurs (wayyyy back) and hes a historical figure and they use his name just because he was so powerful... sorry, i dont know how to say it
