As I understand from the books, being a Seer is a talent someone's born with, and without that a person can't practice Divination successfully. So I don't think students should be allowed to take a subject which they could then fail through no fault of their own, without being able to know if they'd be any good at it before they start taking it. There ought to be some way of testing Seers, and then only they should be taught Divination.

I am actually a supporter of this course, though I 'd prefer a more effective teacher than Trelawney and Firenze.

It seemed like some students - Harry, Ron and Hermione, for example - were just forced to either guess it all or drop the subject though.

Maybe a better option would be offering trail lessons in their second year, or the start of their third year, before the choices become final.

I think it is a bit pointless to teach at a general wizarding school like Hogwarts because there aren't many Seers in the world. I think it would be a better idea to have a separate curriculum who will only accept students who have seemed to have potential.

Where would those Seers learn normal magic then? Or would they be attending this Divination school later, after finishing Hogwarts?

I think everyone should have the opportunity to study it. Although the curriculum should be more flexible so students aren't stuck studying it til 5th year.

Maybe if the subject was more theoretical, with an optional extra module of practical Divination for those who have the talent, it could work.
