no questions asked. Neville went from a skittish little kid that liked to experiment with plants to a brave hero! Although Ginny was shown more than Neville, I'd actually consider her a static character. She didn't really change much.

Just think of how she was in COS. She was kinda gullible, shy and weak but she grew so strong. She stood up against her brothers and became like Hermione. *-*
In my opinion, in the movies they kinda ruined her character. Especially in the last movies I had the feeling that she was only there to love Harry...

I hated her after watching the movies xD I hated her so much that I had to read the books again to remind me of her strength and she has lots of it. Once she even replaced Harry in the quidditch team. She knew very well how to defend herself.^^

I'm surprised that everyone picks Neville^^ I know that he changed a lot and that he's been very brave in the last book but he's been brave since the first book. He was the one who stood up against his friends and like dumbledore says: It takes a great deal of courage to stand up to our enemies but just as much to stand up to our friends.

^^ Clavicula, though I've agreed with most of the things you've said, the reason people are choosing Neville is because he probably HAS progressed the most as a character. Throughout all the books. Why? Because he started off as a scrawny kid, who was brave, but he didn't know it. He started off with the kid who refused to break any rules. He stood up to his friends, but he never really stuck with them. As in the second movie, he resented what he went through and said "Why is it always me?"

But if you keep that in mind, and think about the last few films. When he broke all the rules for what was right. When he stuck by the trio throughout all the fatal things. In the fifth book/movie, when he shouted, "Don't give it to him, Harry," even when his life was in danger. In the last book, how he stood up to Voldemort when no one even dared to speak. How he told Voldemort that Harry's heart beat for all of them, and that Voldemort had lost, when apparently, he HAD won. And how he destroyed the last Horcrux with one swish of a sword... that wasn't the Neville we once knew. That was someone entirely different. :)

Ginny was shy, but became more outgoing. That happens to almost every shy person out there.

Neville was awkward and clumsy, and became fearless and strong. He went through a way larger change than Ginny.

Total Bamf and he took puberty and rolled with it lol
