Retinitis Pigmentosa, a group of genetic eye disorder leading to incurable blindness, is being researched upon by Ayurvedic practitioners. The genetic disorder doesnot have any cure in modern medicine till date. However, the epicentre of holistic medicine system of link is the place where a breakthrough can be possible. The herbal healers along with practitioners of other disciplines and researchers are always on the trail to find a complete cure to this as well as other diseases that have been stated 'incurable.'

The symptoms have been stated as night blindness, vision loss, and sometimes hearing loss. Herbal medicines prepared from amalaki, holy basil or tulsi, shataveri or asparagus, pippali are used to inhibit the degradation of the cells and then to improve the vision. A blockade is created around the eyes and after application of medicinal paste, warm medications in form of purified butter are used to submerge the eyes for some time. The vision scientists are however researching about this genetic disorder and its types for a long period of time.
