Rock is still firmly in control. Josh and Bonnie appear to be next on the chopping block.

Julia is hanging in there and showing some serious moxie. That being said, I think her flaws are much more exposed at this point in the game. While I defended her earlier in the series when she was showing some serious talent against other better-trained deadbeats, at this point in the game I do question her level of knowledge. I can't argue with her heart or raw kitchen management skills. She's solid there. But does she really have what it takes in comparison to, say, the clear front-runner Rock? I say no. She's a great competitor and has shown a TON of growth, but she is not the complete chef that Rock is.

Julia's saving grace is that she cooks simply, but well. Sometimes this works (as with the New York steak) and sometimes it's off the mark (as with the fish 'n chips). But Ramsay will often side with simpler dishes (witness the draw between Bonnie's rustic soup against Brad's more daring curried fish). He's clearly a flavor guy. If the dish tastes great, it will go far with Ramsey (it should look good too). However, I think this advantage for Julia gets neutralized by Rock who has demonstrated skill at elegant, flavorful and straight-forward cooking (which Josh and Brad have been incapable - both are frequently seduced into cooking overly ambitious and more complicated dishes that generally fail).

Jen is too unstable and inconsistent to pose much of a threat. So my power ranking for this week would be:

1. Rock (by a longshot)
2. Julia
3. Jen
4. Bonnie
5. Josh

Josh or Bonnie are my bets for next week. Though I could see Jen saying goodbye too. I'm thinking we're in for a Julia vs. Rock finale which would be an epic David vs. Goliath confrontation and make for great television. Hell, I could even envision a scenario in which Rock wins, but Julia scores an offer to train in Ramsay's kitchen. That would be awesome.
