Does it really need to be explained? Everyone wants to be a Gryffindor! Even if they don't have the traits. That's what makes it overrated.

Yeah, Gryffindor is the "best" House from all the books. Why? Because Harry was in that House. That automatically made Gryffindor the best House, when it really was just a bunch of cocky showoffs.

-_- We are the showoffs? You Hufflepuffs are supposed to be 'just and loyal' but you seem to hate Gryffindors just because they are in Gryffindor house. Not everyone wants to be in Gryffindor, like you two. Some people prefer Ravenclaw or Slytherin or Hufflepuff.

We are being just. Gryffindor doesn't deserve the attention it gets. Hufflepuff is shadowed by your House's glory, it's only fair for us to say that Gryffindor is "better" than all the other Houses.

Because they get it constantly. If there was a person in your class who kept winning some contest, year after year and getting the most attention from everyone, you wouldn't feel that amiable towards them. Getting attention all the time takes away the joy for that person/thing because really, it essentially means nothing anymore.

Yes, it's like a team winning the championship over and over again. While the people on that that might think everyone loves them and they're better than everyone else, the rest of the teams hate them.

But Gryffindors don't win all the time. It was only when Harry came they re-started winning Quidditch.

Yeah, it was when Harry came that Gryffindor became the most overrated of the Houses in pop culture. This is one of the reasons why I don't like him and why I don't like Gryffindor House. Most people (I'm not saying you, best) chose Gryffindor to be their House because Harry or some other major character, like Hermione, was in that House, which is shallow and ridiculous.

Or they just think it's the coolest house because almost all the characters are Gryffindors, which is ridiculous really. Hermione could of been Ravneclaw. Remus too :) Ron could be a Hufflepuff. Wormtail could have been Slytherin - should of been.

Oh I'm forgetting the point. It's just more than half the people that say they're Gryffindors really aren't (not talking about you, best)

Well, I'd see Remus as A Ravenclaw, if anything. But yeah, Neville could've easily been Hufflepuff, and there's nothing wrong with that! Hufflepuffs can be brave also, JKR just makes us out to look like cowards while Gryffindor are the only good guys.

Smith and McMillian are both hated at some point in the books, and it makes the readers hate those characters (when they are just being normal and fair people in saying that Harry might not be a super amazing person, which he isn't, by the way) and it's just unfair to our House.

Somehow, from 'Gryffindors are overrated' this got to 'Hufflepuffs suck' topic... odd. Ever stranger that it looks like I'm defending Hufflepuff, against Huffelpuffs.
So anyway, there are people from every house others dislike.
Gryffindor - Romilda Vane, Peter (he isn't good enough to be a Marauder anymore).
Ravenclaw - some people hate Cho Chang.
Sytherin - Crabbe and Goyole, Pansy

Also from Gryffindor: Ginny. I, along with many others, hate her. I don't hate James, but many people hate him too.

Oh and there are so many more from Slytherin! Like, all the DE were Slytherins and I hate them all, that counts right?

Okay, that's true, most people seem to think Hufflepuff suck (I'm not one of them) and you complain about that, but you can't seem to give us Gryffindors a second chance, like you're house says you should. Not all of us are bad, you know.

I actually like Slytherins more, not because they're not the hero, just... I've always found them interesting. I like the heroes, well most of them.

Yes of course it is. It's just a bunch of reckless kids showing off their "courage" and running blind into the danger instead of using their brains to find the best way out.
It is not about the attention given to Gryffindors. It's more about the Bloody Boy Who Lived to Irritate Us and his noble knights in shining armours always willing to sacrifice themselves to save the day.

^It's the hot-headedness of Gryffindor House that irritates me. Even though Slytherin is a very popular House, they don't seem to put themselves as all important because of it. Besides, I'm part Slytherin anyway.

It's just a question. Just like questions asking which House is the most underrated. It's not my decision who got the most attention in the books, I'm just pointing it out. I definitely agree that any other House could've got more attention if the trio was in that House. and I don't have a problem with that.

Slytherins do not hate all Gryffindors. Gryffindors have as much right to be at Hogwarts as any other witch or wizard from any other house.

I for one, am not a huge fan of Gryffindor as a house, but I have never met a Gryffindor that I actually HATE. Nor have I met any Claw or Puff that I HATE. I have only met Slytherins who I can't stand. Ironic isn't it?

Let's not stereotype and hate on houses just because it's what the book shows us. We're all capable of our own thoughts :)

My friend told me I should be in Gryffindor (when I really think I should be in Ravenclaw). He knows me better than anyone, so went along. Also, all the quizzes I took (I have taken exactly ONE quiz) tells me that I'm a Gryffindor.

Like Ninja-Kitten said, we're all capable of our own thoughts. We should pick the house that best suits us most, not our fave.

Gryffindor is over-rated. Everyone wants to be in it. Ohmehgosh, Harry potter is in Gryff! It's the best house, Gryff! All good people are in Gryff! In a way, (just a theory here so don't hurt the theory person) it is a bit like the Hufflepuffs. (Not saying this is true, but some say Hufflepuffs are the leftovers. This is a stereotype theory) You're not evil, so not Slytherin. You're not a know-it-all, so you're not Ravenclaw. You're not (stupid), so you're not Hufflepuff. Guess you must be Gryffindor.

I don't agree, yet I don't disagree. Are they overrated because they are the main house since the MAIN character is in it? Of course they'd talk about it more doesn't mean it's overrated. It's because the MAIN CHARACTERS are in that house. Hermione, Harry, and Ron. They are all in that house. So, it's not overrated, although I agree that they should talk about the different houses more.
