I turned it off after like half an hour. My dad said the book's amazing though, so I'll have to read it.

Interesting story behind my watching the movie. I first saw it only a couple of years ago and when I went to watch it, the sides were not clearly marked, so I inadvertantly watched the second half of the movie first and, since it made no sense, and it pissed me off (stupid, pathetic spider), I decided to flip the disc to see if I did indeed miss something. I did. So, basically watching it backwards kind of ruined the whole movie for me and Pennywise wasn't very scary at all, but I think Tim Curry did a brilliant job in his portrayal, though.

I've never saw IT...but the clown freaking scares me. I still have nightmares...

I see "It" as scary because of what it does to little kids :)
When my then two-year-old sister came home with my stepfather while I was watching "It", and she saw It open it's mouth filled with fangs, she freaked out! She screamed, cried, and ran over to me like the world was ending.
Personally, It was the only thing that was a bit scary, and horror movies rarely scare me.
But from what I've seen "It" do to other people, I had to say at least kinda scary.
