They were now sitting in the living room, Cuddy still anxiously waiting for whatever House was going to say. Meanwhile, House was sat there, completely frozen.

‘House? What were آپ going to tell me? House!’ Cuddy repeated over and over again, to no avail, until he just stood up without a single word and headed for the door.

‘House, what the hell....’

House turned around to find that he was just inches away from Cuddy. Both of them shocked سے طرف کی this sudden closeness, but neither backing away. The sexual tension was too much for House. He had to do مزید than just stare into her beautiful eyes. He had to kiss her. He was going to do it. Who cares if she pushes him away? Actually, he cared. He didn’t want to be pushed away. He wanted her to let him in, to tell him she felt the same way, that it wasn’t another one of those damned one night stands: it was the start of something new.

After staring at her for so long, he did it. He kissed her. He could sense her trying to fight him off but his grip was too strong to let her get away, yet gentle enough not to hurt her. In the end she gave in to him. She couldn’t deny her feelings any longer.

They broke the kiss simultaneously, both in need of air, yet stayed in the same position, holding on to each other like their lives depended on it. He didn’t want to let her go. She couldn’t let him go.

‘So, um, what was it that آپ wanted to tell me?’ Cuddy asked, slightly out of breath.

‘I love you, Lisa’

Cuddy looked up at him in shock and when she realised سے طرف کی the look in his eyes that he wasn’t lying, she believed him and smiled. Yet there was always the nagging feeling at the back of her mind that he was indeed lying, after all this came from the man who so implicitly states that ‘everybody lies’. House saw that she was still a little uncertain about whether he meant what he کہا یا not, and reassured her.

‘I mean it, Lisa. Trust me. However hard that may be. I didn’t come here to get laid; I came here to let آپ know that there is someone who does care for you, someone to protect you. That’s all.’

She smiled, reassured سے طرف کی his oddly soothing words. He simply kissed her in response to her smile, knowing that she’ll need time to think about what he had said, not wanting her to say she loved him too just for the sake of it.

Suddenly the doorbell rang, startling them both. House motioned for Cuddy to answer the door, as he himself limped over to the couch.

As she opened the door with a smile on her face, she couldn’t believe the sight she saw in front of her, making her smile disappear, her expression replaced with one of shock.
