They really did dislike each other. They never show any real affection other then verbal. When they "kiss", it's not real.

It was cute. They were nice to each other at times too. Heck even my husband and I make fun of each other and we've only been married about two years!

That's what made them so funny. I believe that they truly loved each other, but whatever. Maybe it was because Fred was home all the time so they got sick of each other.
