if there were two phases, then in the first phase, he certainly would be no pushover, similar to recent developments in the manga, the second phase would have him become a very powerful heartless.

Mainly since the battles would be between Honest & Esdeath. With Honest controlling the Heartless until he ends up consumed by the Heartless, while the true Main Boss would be Esdeath. Mainly since Esdeath will fight as her normal self until the second phase of the fight she will fight as a Nobody.
