Chapter X (5 years later)
Everyone has gotten used to Voldemort and Bellatrix. Even Snape, Lucius, and Rabastan don’t think about it anymore. They all think it quite normal to see Bella, Voldemort, and their two children walking in the forest at night, Versilius, the five سال old son, running ahead to explore, and Bellarosa, the 3 سال old daughter, sticking close to her mother’s skirts. Everyone is perfectly used to seeing the family retire to Voldemort’s chambers at night for a private رات کا کھانا that no one has ever seen. No one except for Rabastan. Every night he watches through a crack. He sees the white drink that Bellatrix gives to Voldemort, and how he always tells her that it smells like death and power, whatever that means.
He is positive that she is drugging him with Amortentia, that she has been doing so for 5 years, and that he has no idea what is happening. He spends the night thinking and planning his revenge. How he will replace Bella’s drug supply with a placebo and bide his time. How he will tell Voldemort about what she has been doing to him, how he will be grateful and furious. Rabastan dreams about the دن that Voldemort sees Bella through his undrugged eyes, and decided what to do.
Chapter XI
Rabastan rose from his بستر at midnight and padded softly down the corridor carrying a black leather bag. He slipped into Voldemort’s personal eating area and cast a quick spell to alert him to the presence of intruders. Circling the room slowly, he searched for the tell-tale scent that would lead him to the potion. Sniffing gently, Rabastan walked silently towards an ornate jug in plain sight on the oak table. He lifted the lid and inhaled deeply, picking up hints of کرینبیری and burning wood. He smiled to himself and opened up the satchel, lifting out a glass flask of milky white liquid. Opening the lid, he recognized the cold smell of death. Harmless though it was, he shivered as he poured it into the jug of Amortentia, effectively removing its powers while leaving the milky sheen and smell that made it such a distinctive brew.
Rabastan hurried out of the room and down the corridor, rushing so as not to be caught in the Dark Lord’s private chambers. With a soft click, the door closed behind him and Rabastan was safe, striding back to his tiny room, filled with a blazing pride in his actions. It would only be days now, before the Dark Lord regained his senses and punished Bellatrix accordingly. Then, Rabastan thought, is when I will approach the Dark Lord about what I did. He will reward me above all the others. They will see what I’ve done for all of them and they will honour me forever.
His eyes almost glowed in the darkness as he stowed his bag in the wardrobe and lay down to sleep. To sleep and wait.
Chapter XII
Voldemort paced the floor of his chambers, his brow furrowed. His wife sat on a red velvet sofa, trying to teach Versilius how to hold his new wand properly. He stopped and stared at her for a moment, she was oblivious to his attention. She was very beautiful, despite her years. She showed a strange tenderness as she positioned Lius’s small hand around the hilt of his dark wand. Voldemort couldn’t understand what was wrong. He had lived with her for 5 years and had been madly in love with her for…he couldn’t even remember. A fuzzy thought floated through his mind, you’ve loved her for exactly 5 years. آپ were married in the same week آپ fell in love… Voldemort frowned and shook his head, walking over the help Lius practise his wand movements.
“Oh my Lord and Master, is something wrong?” Bella کہا playfully as he fixed Lius’s positioning.
“I was thinking about our wedding…” Voldemort said, not looking at her.
“Our wedding? Why?” Bella asked, her face open,
“We were married the دن after I proposed, correct?” Voldemort sounded troubled.
“Yes, that’s right, آپ wouldn’t even wait a month!” Bella giggled, grabbing his hand and kissing it softly, placing her hand under his elbow. Voldemort pulled away quickly, dropping Lius’s wand on the stone floor. Bella stood, confused,
“My Lord?”
“It’s nothing…I need to talk to call a meeting…stay here.”
Voldemort کہا angrily as he turned for the door,
“Goodbye!” Bella called desperately after him, but the door had already swung shut.
She took Lius’s hand and ran into his bedroom, sitting him down on a بستر with his sister.
“You two stay in here until father یا I call you, I’ll be back shortly.”
Bellarosa pouted, her black curls brushing her shoulders as she shook her head,
“Where آپ go?” She asked, her baby face puckering.
“Father called a meeting, he’ll need me there,” Bella said
“But he told آپ to stay here!” Lius said, confused
Bellarosa slipped off the loveseat and ran to clutch Bella’s skirts,
“Mother don’t go!” she cried. Bella tried without success to push her daughter away,
“Lius! Get her off!”
“Yes mother,” Versilius’s dark eyes held fear as he yanked his younger sister away from his mother, “Shall we wait until آپ return?”
“Yes, یا if آپ hear father یا I calling you.”
“What if آپ don’t call یا come back?”
“Then come and find me!” snapped Bellatrix, her eyes held some of their former madness as she turned from her children and strode out the door, slamming it in her haste to find her husband.
Bellarosa sat down on the floor and began to cry,
“What happen to mother?” she asked her older brother,
“Shut up Rosa, we’ll go find her in 10 minutes, I promise,”
Lius said, his five سال old mind just clever enough to see that something was wrong,
“She’s just gone to get something from father, she’ll be back in a couple minutes…”
He کہا before he sank to the ground, clutching his sister as he cried too.
Chapter XIII
Bellatrix grabbed her wand and the flask of shimmery potion that she kept behind the jug on the counter. Her thoughts tumbled furiously in her mind, what was happening? Where had he gone? What was he doing? Why had he ordered her to stay here? Angry tears welled in her eyes, something was wrong, but she had no idea what. She flew out the door and almost ran down the pathway to the meeting hall, her hair tangling and whipping her face in the wind. As she reached the large doors she slowed and caught her break, brushing her locks back before she threw open the doors and entered the hall. She started towards the right side of the میز, جدول when she stopped in her tracks, taking in the layout of the table. Severus was still at the left side of her Lord, but in her place was…Rabastan? Her brother-in-law…? There was no empty chair at the میز, جدول for her. That’s fine…he didn’t expect me, that’s why there’s no chair, Bella thought desperately as she walked towards Voldemort.
“My Lord,” she said, sinking into a shallow bow, “I brought آپ a drink,” she held out the flask hopefully, “But why is my dear brother sitting in my place?”
Voldemort’s eyes burned red in the dimly lit room, staring at the flask, his slender hand clenched around the hilt of his wand.
“Put that down. Your brother is here because he has done me a great favour very recently. One that is greater than all that آپ have ever done, and also one that brings one of your mistakes to light.”
Bellatrix’s eyes widened minutely and she looked slightly frenzied as she set the flask down on the table.
“Then he does great honour to my old family. I am honoured to be his sister.” She کہا carefully, avoiding the matter of her “mistake”.
Voldemort almost laughed, but instead he stood and stared deep into her eyes,
“Did آپ honestly think آپ could get away with it forever? I have been poisoned before, and I have drunk unicorn’s blood to keep me at the brink of death, but no one has ever tried to give me Amortentia, let alone succeeded…”
He trailed off, his eyes like flames in an empty skull.
Bella gasped and reached towards him, her face pleading, she sensed her world crashing down around her.
“My Lord! I never- All lies! I live only to please you!” her voice broke as she watched him raise his wand.
“Master!” she screamed as he screamed the spell, a flash of light illuminating the dark room.
Chapter XIV
Voldemort sank into his chair, breathing heavily. He stared at the body on the floor, the eyes wide, hand outstretched. He put his head in his hands, hissing slightly with anger.
“My Lord…” Rabastan whispered, his voice urgent.
Voldemort raised his head and stared at the sliver of light coming from slightly open doors. A small figure peered out from the door, searching the room. Suddenly the child saw Bella’s body and ran to it, a cry escaping from her small mouth,
“Mother!”
Voldemort snarled and stood, his wand pointed towards the girl collapsed beside her mother’s dead body.
“Father?”
The girl asked, her huge black eyes staring at him innocently. Her high cheekbones and black curls were reflected in the woman lying on the floor, something that Voldemort did not fail to notice.
From the door ran Versilius, his small feet pounding on the floor as he ran to his sister and mother. He understood what was wrong with Bella at once, and shock spread across his face. He turned to his father, anger in his eyes, raising his tiny black wand in his pale fist.
“You killed her! آپ killed mother! I’ll kill you!” he cried, his voice quavering.
Voldemort laughed just as he had laughed at Bella and addressed his tiny son,
“You, my son, are the Devil’s spawn, and not even I could make anything from آپ now. I’ve killed your mother and I will kill you, and your sister…”
He کہا evenly, turning his wand on Bellarosa, who sat beside Bellatrix’s hand, tears spilling down her face. Voldemort began the fatal incantation,
“No!” screamed Lius as he leapt in front of his sister, shielding her from the lethal jet of light.
As Voldemort finished, Lius fell to the floor, the life gone from his eyes. The Dark Lord frowned in annoyance,
“I suppose you’re اگلے then,” he looked at Rosa, who sniffled in response, shuffling closer to Bella and Lius.
“Avada Kedavra!”
And Bellarosa blinked, confused.
The Deatheaters looked towards the head of the table, shock on their faces.
“Not again…” groaned Lucius.
