End of Chapter 1
"Alexandra." I mocked my mothers voice as I sighed and eased my feet over the edge of the floor, putting just the slightest pressure on my toes. The pain was not like anything I have known, I would imagine this is close to the sensation آپ get when a person walks through hot coals...pure hell, pure pain.
I grab onto the bed, my breath coming out ragged as the pain races up my feet and into my legs causing the worst cramps I've ever had. I knew that I don't deal well with pain, and I've never felt anything like this..I knew I was most likely going to pass out but before I did I swear on everything and anything آپ want me to that I heard a male voice...it's tone mocking as he کہا "We'll meet again, and he won't save you." Then everything went black.
Chapter 2
When I came to I found my mother leaning over me, her eyes full of fear and concern. I realize that I am not laying against the floor like I thought I would, instead I am laying in my bed, my feet propped up on...pillows?
"Mom?"
"Alexandra..don't آپ dare scare me like that again. I heard this sound like آپ were throwing things around and I came up to check on آپ and there آپ were..unconscious on the floor. آپ nearly gave me a دل attack!" She says as she wipes a tear from the corner of her eye. "What the hell happened?"
"Um." I say as I sit up, trying to remember everything. "I don't know."
"Alex." She sighs loudly as she looks down at my feet. "What happened? Your feet are all torn up. Where did آپ go last night? Why didn't آپ wear shoes?"
"I...I don't remember." I say as her angry look gets مزید intense. I know she doesn't believe me, that she thinks I am just making up stories that I snuck out somewhere last night.
"Well..I guess آپ can just stay here and try and think up a better story." She says as she stands up, all concern and fear gone and replaced سے طرف کی hurt and disrespect. "Come down when آپ want to tell me what's really going on."
I started to say something to stop her from slamming the door but I realized that this was pointless..she was pissed..nothing I could say یا do would make her happy unless I made up some story about going out and meeting someone..which wasn't true..I think.
This was going to drive me nuts! I closed my eyes and thought of the dream..running through the snow, being chased..and the voice at the end. It was all so real, like I could almost feel the breath of his words against the back of my neck.
I wished and hoped that something would happen, that I would suddenly understand what was going on with me..was I going nuts? Was I going to deserve all the names I had been called when I was little? I made myself stop thinking about all of that, rolling over onto my side, a تکیا tucked into my side. I closed my eyes and اگلے thing I know I heard someone whisper.."It's about time."
