Is it just me یا has the new dolls that Mattel has been producing well...suck. I mean, come on, the only reason why I really follow this fandom is because of the dolls. I never really cared all that too much for the specials, the webisodes یا even the کتابیں for that matter. The only reason I would give a shit about this fandom is because of the lovely and unique dolls.
I have always admired Mattel with the work they have put into creating doll lines and accessories. I loved their lines of Winx Club dolls, and when I was little, I loved all their Barbie dolls and their play-sets. (I even liked a few MyScene and Bratz dolls) No one can deny that Mattel has a way with making most girls appealed to dolls - no matter the age.
What annoys me, is the new dolls that they have been producing. I got fascinated on this fandom due to the dolls. The first doll I received was Ghoulia and I loved her; the Monster High dolls were such an interesting take to the doll industry. They were incredibly posable, even مزید so than most Barbie dolls. They had removable parts, which was also interesting, and their whole design and little details is what made them so unique.
Every time I saw تصاویر of new dolls, I would get excited. I mean, the first wave of dolls was awesome, and each new wave Mattel kept making (Skull Shores, Gloom Beach, Dawn of the Dance...) just kept making these dolls مزید and مزید appealing. Now...they just make me laugh.
The first pathetic excuse for dolls from this doll-line had to be the Scary Tale Dolls. They were just so ugly, and a waste of plastic. The stories made no sense and just ruined the tales that we grew up with. (I for one, was confused سے طرف کی their Cinderella story, and the one of Little Red Riding Hood) The dolls are cheaply made compared to all of the other dolls that Mattel has made within this line. I mean, these made the first basic dolls look like master pieces.
اگلے came the Roller Maze line. From the photos, آپ can tell that this line is just a mockery. All the girls in this line look like children, and their outfits are terrible. I must say, that this is the first line in which Lagoona looks probably the worst out of the bunch. (Which is quite a shame because all of her گزشتہ dolls have been gorgeous) Abbey looks like a dumb-little-child with that short hair, as does Frankie. Ghoulia and Lagoona just look gawd awful, and Clawdeen just looks like another hot mess as she was in the Sister Pack with Howleen.
After that, came the monstrosity known as the Ghouls Rule dolls. I mean, Jesusfuck. Those things have to be the worst looking dolls I've seen in awhile. (And I've seen my brother decapitate a doll, shave all her hair off and then color the face) The make-up is a disaster, as are the outfits. Frankie looks like some Elvira gone completely wrong. Draculaura looks like one of those teens who would dress "goth" - wearing mainly black - but have their own "add" into the outfit. (I.E the gawd awful pink) Clawdeen just looks like a hot-mess...or even just plain ratchet. Her hair is terrible, as is her makeup and her outfit looks like Mattel just gave up on her. Cleo just looks like they took her Skull Shores outfit and made it look مزید "elegant" and "party-like". I do not understand why some people actually want to buy this line.
And then there come all those other little dolls: Jinafire, Hoodude, Scarah, Skeletita and now even this Catatrice. Scarah and Hoodude and utter cheap rip-offs that Mattel has probably purposely made as Comic Con exclusives just so people will pay مزید for them. (Because, we all already know that no one wants those cheap excuses as dolls)
Jinafire, Skeletita and Catatrice will just be the introduction of so many gawd awful stereotypes. I mean, I love Rochelle and her character, but her diary is horrible stereotypical and offensive. (To me at least) All of the terrible accent writings is just making it seem like people from France can't speak یا write English correctly. I don't understand why Mattel would have to write Rochelle's accent into her diaries, when she's merely writing. (And if she's writing the diary, how the hell is she supposed to write down the accent properly? Fuck logic, Mattel) So, I'm probably just going to merely laugh my پچھواڑے, گدا off when I see Skeletita passing out Taco's in the اگلے line, Jinafire being a math wiz and barely able to say "R"'s and "L"'s properly, and Catatrice loving the couture and being some snobby کتیا, کتيا from Paris who thinks she's better than everyone else.
The other thing that's bothered me is the repeat of certain lines. I mean, Mattel has done this in the past and it doesn't really make much sense to me. (Well it does, but come on: you're smarter than that and آپ lot have enough money as it is) The re-did Draculaura and Clawdeen's Dead Tired outfits, when they had perfectly fine ones in the first wave. Instead of merely just adding only Abbey, why don't make one for Spectra and Operetta? They've been around long enough. For the Skull Shores dolls (Both wave one and two) they were just only making those large "5 Packs" for the money. It was just a rip-off for those who already had the dolls, and merely wanted Ghoulia یا Cleo to complete their collection. (Plus, they went cheap on both those box sets; the dolls came with no accessories so buyers could only get the little add ons from the single dolls)
All of these extensive Fashion Packs are also getting on my nerves. I understand that every single doll-line has these, but they just keep making مزید and مزید that are highly unnecessary. (Especially since the need to be releasing new dolls) And these packs are fucking expensive; some even come across for مزید than $8 - I mean, come on! Eight bucks for clothes? No.
Well, I guess that ends my little rant. Hope those who agree with me enjoyed this. I simply couldn't keep these opinions inside me any longer.
