I like anything with Franka Potente, second would be the princess and the warrior .

Me plus German, not a good combination for many reasons.

I'm from Germany so I can really say most of the films we make suck. ^^

But Schuh des Manitu is really worth watching. It's sooo funny. I can only say: try it.

I'm from Germany too (now I live in Canada) and I'm gonna have to disagree with you Serienjunkie91. Out of the 18 movies on this list, I love 13. I think as long as its not stupid romantic comedies the Germans have churned out some great movies over the years. Of course, there's always gonna be bad ones but at least the ones on the list I'd fathom are pretty good. And as for Der Schuh des Manitu, yeah it is hilarious, but if you think about it, is it really a "good" movie?

Run Lola Run is good, too, along with "In July" and "The Princess and the Warrior" which aren't here. I haven't gotten around to "The Lives of Others" yet. Or my dad's Werner Herzog collection.

I actually really like German movies... Let's see, my favorite would probably be "Goodbye Lenin!" but it's the one with most votes... So, my second favorite is probably this one, Downfall, amazing movie depicting the last days of Hitler in his bunker, the main actor does a fantastic job and it's very incredible to watch.

Also The Edukators, and a few that aren't on the pick: The Wave, The Counterfeiters both amazing movies.

and Das Experiment.

It's a really really good film, Peter Lorre is truly excellent.
