"You don't have to tell me that," was Zanes reply as he rubbed some of the Qeacaba ointment onto her cheek before placing a large square bandage over it. "There we go. That should have you all set to go get your award without your helmet messing with the cut."

"What kind of help?" London asked.

Jin nodded and tossed the bouquet over to him. "One of your fans was waiting down the hall to ambush you with those." He paused and looked at the arm that the medics were treating. "Seems like quite the White Knight didn't show you any mercy for your shenanigans."

"Thanks." Jaden said before getting up, grabbing some water as she chugged down the left over half of it before crumpling it and throwing it in the trash. "Alright lets do this." She said confidently as she went over to her body armor and put it on before putting her helmet back on.

"Training, honing skills, maneuvers, and most importantly showmanship. If theres anything odd about the fighting style of this nation is that showmanship is almost as important as the actual fight. I doubt someone like the leader would care for a normal display of skill." Xavier stated. "Im sure I can gets us hooked up with someone."

"Even though I lost?" He chuckled awkwardly. "Some of those ladies are crazy." Quickly the medical staff finished up wrapping up his arm before he put back on his blood soaked shirt, not feeling the need to dirty a new clean one. "I didnt expect him to. Hes notorious for his elegant but quick battles. I didn't think hed play along with the show and shenanigans as some others do."

Fi perked up a little when Xavier mentioned the words "hooked up" but almost immediately returned back to what she was doing before.

"That's true," Jin replied. "You should get going."

Soon enough the awards were handed out and, after dodging Alex trying to get her to have a conversation with him, Jaden quickly swooped out of the arena and out towards the locker room where she kept the rest of her stuff. She glanced back over at Zane to make sure he was following along with to see a strange group of people standing outside the locker room. She stopped in her tracks and pointed at them before turning to look at Zane as a way of silently asking 'who are they?'

Zane followed her gaze and spotted the group waiting for them. He recognized two of them as the boy and girl who were asking about joining a tournament the day before. Immediately, Zane put on a big smile on his face and strode towards the group, speaking as he did. "Heeey! I thought I recognized you guys! I see you managed to find the information you were looking for. Did you all enjoy the show?"

Jaden followed slowly behind before leaning up against the wall behind Zane, folding her arms as to avoid confrontation.

"Oh hey, you were the ones that helped us out earlier." Erik said, recognizing Zane's face. "Thanks for that by the way."

"You guys know each other?" Xavier asked, hovering over Erik's shoulder. "Introductions?"

"Oh yeah. This is Xavier, and London, and uh.." Erik introduced them, pointing at them respectively before looking back at Lydia and Leela, figuring that with the fact Lydia seemed to be keeping her presence low that it would be best not to mention her. "Who are you again? I dont think we got your name then."

"I don't think you did. I'm Zane. I have to say I never expected your group to be so large. Are you just passing through or...?" Zane trailed off inquisitively. Obviously if they were just passing through, they wouldn't be waiting by the locker rooms to ambush them.

"Well we are actually here because we need to get the attention of the leader of this nation and were told that by competing and putting on a good show would be the best way to do so." Erik explained. "Pendallan sent us out under this guy and he recommended we find someone to help us figure this out and walked us over here."

Xavier waved. "Hey, Pendallan General Xavier Nul Landrin. We were wondering, after having watched a show like that, if you guys would a few of us out for a week before we take part in the tournaments. Its really important that we get in contact with Halenstein."

Jaden looked over at them shaking her head lightly before standing straight up and raising her arms to make an "X" as to reject the proposal.

Zane looked at Jaden for a second before turning back to the group and shrugging. "Sorry guys. The boss says no. Perhaps you could go seek out The Luzon. I'm sure he would love to assist you in any way. If that fails, there's a slightly older fighter named Shi-Jin-"

As Zane spoke to the Xavier and gave them instructions on how to reach the other fighters, Fi, who had been quiet the whole time, looked at Jaden, who had caught her attention. She frowned and tilted her head. "Hey you..." she said, cutting Zane off. "I thought you'd be a hunk, but you're not....male..."

Jaden perked up a bit at Fi's claim. It wasnt very noticeable through her armor, but the claim seemed to have caught her off guard and put her on the defensive.

"You didnt notice?" Xavier raised an eyebrow looking over at Fi. "Shes totally a wo-" He began to say, only to be roughly yanked away along with Fi into the locker room by Jaden who quickly locked the door behind.

Jaden darted her head around to make sure no one else was in the room before removing her helmet. "Okay who the hell are you two with and why do you know?" She said in sharp and aggressive tone.

"...." Erik looked at the door that the three of them almost disappeared into. "Did.... I miss something?"

In a move that was almost faster than Jaden and Luzon during their match, Fi was up close to Jaden, bended on one knee and with Jadens hand in her grasp. "My love. There is no force on this planet that could keep me in the dark of your unwavering beauty. The armor you wear not only over your body but around your heart is nothing in the face of our destiny together. We are of differing cultures...worlds apart...but in this moment I feel as if we are one in the same."

Zane made two slow blinks before smiling at Erik. "Not at all, buddy. Hey, if you don't mind me asking, can I know a little more about this mission you are on? It sounds like something out of a fantasy novel! I can almost see you guys on a mission given by a majestic princess. The other guy is a general, right? What kind of rank are you all?"

Jaden's eyebrows furrowed as she whipped her hand out of Fi's grasp. "Cut the crap. Im not interested in you or any request you might have." She stated, clearly agitated. "If either of you dare share with anyone my identity in any form or manner Ill be sure you wont-"

"Hold it, hold it. Fi doesnt mean anything bad or creepy. Shes like that to everyone she meets." Xavier said, his hands both up to the side and lightly patting as to motion 'calm down'. "Im guessing she knows because shes skilled at flirting. I know because Im originally from Handan and because of it, Im an empath. It was easy for me to tell because of that. And dont worry, we wont tell. I just want to talk alright?"

Jaden narrowed her eyes slightly in suspicion before relaxing and folding her arms. "Ill hear you out given she doesnt do that again." She said, turning to look over at Fi. "It creeps me out."

"We arent really anything high ranking. Mostly regular citizens that got picked out for certain... circumstances." Erik answered, avoiding saying anything about his relation with his mom. "But apparently Pendallan's gem started to wither and its concerning so we were sent out for more information and to see if nation had a similar occurrence."

"Only if you stop hiding those assets, baby," Fi responded.

Zanes eyes widened. "What? Your gem? That's...pretty scary. I'm sorry to say, but even if you get an audience with Hal, you might need to have something up your sleeve in order to get him to admit if anything that important is wrong..."

Jaden seemed to stare over at Fi, seeming almost to look like a deer being watched by a tiger.

"Im sorry about her." Xavier said, putting a hand on Fi's head and petting it lightly. "Shes our groups medic. But really, we could really use your help. Zakaria and Rhea from Pendallan sent us out because our nations gem is starting to fade and they are worried that its not only an emergency for our nation but an emergency that could spread to a world wide one. They want us to figure out whats going on and collect information and we cant really get to Commander Halenstein in an easy way without your help."

Jaden looked at Xavier, then back at Fi to keep her in sight, and then back at him. "Well hes not the type to really talk openly about that stuff too easily so good luck with that." She sighed. "Fine. Mostly because Im curious about this and it sounds important, but you better keep me in the loop. I want to make sure my dad gets out of whatever thats about safely. Also the fact Im a woman does not leave your group or Ill have your heads."

"Thanks." Xavier said with a smile before he motioned in for the group to come into the locker room with them.

After the rest of the group entered, the next minute or two was dedicated for everyone out of the loop getting accustomed to Jadens gender. It was only after that happened that they could get down to business.

"Alright!" Zane said as he deadbolted the locker room door to ensure there were no more unwelcome guests. "Now that we've all been...introduced. I think you guys should tell us specifically what you want from us. "training" is a bit vague if we only have a week and one teacher."

Fi and London had volunteered to go gather up the rest of Jadens things while Jaden dealt with Xaviers request. It wasn't exactly a two person job but it kept Fi a fair distance away from Jaden and under the proper supervision.

Thus, after an hour of discussion, the group decided to head back to the inn and pick things up the next day.

That night, London was having trouble sleeping. she kept tossing and turning until eventually, she sat up with a sigh. This was ridiculous. She wasn't feeling useless, but it also really wasn't fun that everyone was doing these plans and London was just listening. Even Fi seemed to be higher up on the importance because of her abilities as the medic...everything was simpler when she was just a hunter. Man she wanted to hunt...actually...

As quietly as she could, London got out of bed and left the room, being sure to not wake up any of the other girls. As she went down to the lobby of the inn, she went behind the desk and grabbed one of the notepads for taking orders. Quickly, she jotted down a note for them to not worry about her as she was just going to the outskirts of the city for a quick hunt. After she finished, she put the note up where she thought they'd easily find it and left.

"Wake up." Lydia said, poking Erik with a pen, who was sprawled across the inn's floor where he had decided to sleep for the night. "Theres an issue and we are short on time."

"Eh...?" Erik mumbled as he slowly opened his eyes, sat up, and looked around. For the most part everyone else was already up and appeared either ready to leave or almost ready to leave, making it so that he realized he likely oversleep and/or failed to wake up when others did. "What time-" He yawned. "What time is it?"

"An hour before we were planning to leave off to practice with Jaden and the others." Xavier spoke up, adjusting his gloves on his hands. "Issue is London's-"

Erik still seemed to only be half awake and not paying full attention, which was especially noted when he quickly seemed to perk up as he noticed something. "WAIT WHERES LONDON? Is that the issue? Was she kidnapped?" He asked quickly in succession.

"No, I think she should be fine." Xavier explained, handing over the note London left. "But she hasnt really returned yet. I was thinking I could ask you to go out and find her? Make sure shes alright and finds her way back in one piece."

Erik looked through the note and sighed. At least it was better than any other alternative scenarios he had come up with in the split second of noticing she was gone. "Yeah Ill find her." He said before standing up, grabbing his over shirt and heading for the room's front door. "Ill meet up with you when we are back." He said before leaving out the door, shifting into a German Shepard after he felt he was a decent distance away from any of the people in the group.

On the outskirts of the town, on one of the paths, a small deer grazed on some grass. It had been injured by a trap a little while before and the food was providing it with some small relief. Some distance away, up perched on a branch of a tree and almost entirely hidden from view, was London. London had been quietly tracking this deer for the majority of the night. She had discovered the boorish trap some Terrador citizen had set and knew that she should go and put the poor escaped animal out of its pain. This was what she needed. This felt right. She didn't need some big world-changing mission or a bunch of estranged family drama. Just a daily life and the ability to hunt would do her just fine. That being said, she was already going to be late and she hoped they would go straight to Jadens place without waiting for her, but in case they did wait, she needed to end this quickly. The carcass would have to serve as some predators meal. Taking a slow, deep breath in, London nocked an arrow and took aim. It was a clear shot...

London closed her eyes. Something tells her Lydia and Leela would not be very pleased with this kind of stress relief. London didn't care too much how they thought of her. She was simply different from the people of Gattaria...but that didn't mean she was going to take a life just because she's pent up. London let the bow grow slack and put the arrow back into her quiver.

"If dad and mom saw me hunting without a job, they'd be disappointed..." she said as she hopped down, the noise scaring the deer off as it ran to safety.

Erik followed after a bit of a familiar scent mixed with some decent gut guesses to figure out where London was. One of the benefits of being able to shape shift was the ability to take on the forum of whatever creature held the sense you needed the most at the time, may it be the height and eyesight of a hawk, or may it be the sent of a hound. For the most part, it helped greatly and as an animal, it usually went under the eyes of most, given the animal wasnt extremely out of place in the location. It took him a while, but he eventually managed to locate London, quickly perching, as a hawk, on the branch she was on before transforming back to his normal appearance. "Found you London." He said, looking down at her from where he sat. "You let it go?"

Londons eyes flicked over towards Erik for a second before looking away and softly hooking the bow around her shoulder. "The second you start hunting so you can experience the thrill of taking another life, you're nothing but a poacher...Xavier sent you?"

"Kind of. I would have gone even if he didn't ask. Its not a good idea to go hunting on your own, especially in a foreign area." Erik said before jumping down next to her. "I wanted to make sure you were alright. You could have woken me up to join you right? I wouldnt have minded."

"Haha so funny." Erik said sarcastically, lightly shaking his head at her. "Anyways, everyone else went off to Jaden's already without us so we should get heading back before we miss too much." He mentioned before pausing a bit, feeling his stomach grumble a bit before realizing he really didnt eat anything this morning and only had two meals the day before. "But we should find some food somewhere. Im half starved and can not train on an empty stomach."

"Well unless you want to go chasing after the deer, I suggest we start making our way back to civilization. Do you want to just grab whatever or go get Alberts opinion on where to eat?" London seemed to be completely over whatever possessed her to go hunting in the first place and was looking inquisitively up at Erik.

"For real though... We probably look like crazed delusional children to most of the higher ups." Erik grumbled. "Honestly, I don't see why they didnt go off on their own. People would take them more seriously than us. To be honest knowing Rhea, shes just doing this to screw with me or as some sot of weird punishment."

"They probably waited until we left before setting up the REAL group to send to Gattaria after us." London said, ending the sentence with a wave of her arm. "It would explain why Xavier is making us do this weird plan of dancing for the big guy so he MIGHT invite us to talk." She slowed down a bit. "What we should do is spend the time finding a way of getting out of this blackmail situation."

"Who knows. Maybe we could use this instead to relocate to a different nation. I cant imagine that theyd ever really stop holding stuff against us." He suggested, throwing his hands behind his head a bit. "I dont really mind though taking part in this game - especially if we arent meant to actually get anything done on this mission. It sounds like fun and sharpening my skills always appeals to me." He explained. "But as for Xavier... and everyone, I dont really know. They dont seem to have ill intentions, but I dont really trust that its not just what they want us to think."

"I mean I guess that show yesterday WAS kind of cool," London begrudgingly admitted. "I'm not sure I can agree on wanting to take part, but maybe I should just enjoy the little things."

The two of them continued on with small talk for the next couple minutes before finally reaching the town. At that point they began their hunt for somewhere that would provide breakfast.

Soon enough, they managed to find what appeared to be a small diner a short distance into the city. With that, they sat down and opened up the menus. "At least food is covered with their money." Erik said as he looked up and down the menu, seeming to raise his eyebrow a bit. "They have normal stuff here... but some of this stuff is strangely... protein packed. 'Protein Powdered Donut' over in the desert section..." He commented before deciding on what he wanted and set the menu down. "This is nice though - getting some one on one time. None of Fi's flirting or anything like that."

London likewise ordered her food and rubbed her temples at the thought of Fi. "The last thing I want to think about right now is Fi. Did you know she got in trouble with Mrs Talesman for peeping on her? The only thing keeping us from getting kicked out was that Fi and her daughter really hit it off."

"That girl needs constant supervision doesnt she.." Erik muttered before looking around. "I wonder how things are going back in Pendallan though. Like what Mom and Dad are doing with such an empty house."

Soon enough, they finished eating and, with some of the money Xavier gave them earlier, they paid the bill before leaving the restaurant. "Alright before they start wondering if we got eaten by a bear, we should find our way back." He said before stretching a bit. He paused as a sudden realization dawned on him. ".... hey do you know where we are supposed to meet?"

"Jadens place," came Londons unhelpful reply. "They gave Xavier the directions." How she planned on catching up with them after her hunt was unknown, but it was clear that London had no idea where to go.

"Thats great." Erik sighed before scratching his head. "Ill try to sniff them out." He said before shifting into a bloodhound, quickly shooting a glance over at London. Man did he hate how much he had to go around doing this. "I wont be able to shift too much in public eye like this by the way."

"Down boy," London said as the two of them set off to go find Jaden and the others. The most logical place to start was back at the Inn so Erik could get their scent and sniff em out. So that's what they did. For the most part London kept quiet as they went

Meanwhile, Jin and Alex were taking a short outing together to grab some food themselves before going off to train later. At the moment, Alex seemed to be in much more casual clothes, wearing sunglasses and a clearly phony mustache in an attempt to dodge any stray wild fans. "So you see Jin they came at me from the left and I was like-" Alex said, continuing part of a story he was telling only to suddenly cut himself off as he seemed to notice something. For those that werent used to him, they might think he noticed an incoming danger or something with his fighting tendencies, but in reality, it was almost the exact opposite. "JIN! ITS A DOGGO!" He shouted a bit, quickly turning towards the passing by London and Erik. "Imma go say hi alright?"

Jin looked over at the dog Alex was so suddenly enamored with and nodded. "If you must. We could make it quick before the glue loses its effectiveness."

Alex said before heading over in what almost appeared to be a skip where he knelt down and started petting Erik's back, quickly causing Erik to jump a bit and to London's other side. Alex chuckled as he stood up, his mustache falling of as he did so. "You have a cute do- AH MY MUSTACHE!"

Meanwhile Erik seemed to look up at Alex, almost regretting being in the form that he was since he was both stuck in this form and unable to speak to such a... strange but special face.

During that entire exchange and for a few seconds afterwards, Londons only response was a series of slow, meticulous blinks. Eventually she managed to find her voice and pointed hesitantly at Alex. "Hey you. Aren't you that Gander guy who was in the tournament yesterday? Why are you invading my dogs personal space?"

"Shhhshshhhshhhh!" Alex hissed, putting a finger up to his lips. "They might find out if you speak too loudly. Some of the women are scary." He whispered. "But no. Of course not." He said with a light wink. "Though really, your dog is just so cute and there are so few of them around here that I couldnt help but say hi." He explained before crouching down again and holding his hand out for Erik.

Erik looked at the hand, then up at London, seeming to debate if he was really going to have to play along.

Erik was debating. London, however; could not resist. "Now now, boy. Don't be rude. Give the nice man a kiss." she said, adding an extra lilt to her voice when she said kiss. "You don't want to have to sleep outside again, do you?"

One could almost see Erik's dog eyes glare up at London before reluctantly lightly giving Alex's hand a lick. Shortly after he put his hand on Erik's head, petting it lightly. "Aww hes so cute. Whered you get him? What tricks does he know?"

To Alex and most other people around, London just looked happy to show off her dog, but to Erik, that smile could only mean the deepest of despair. "Oh this lil guy? He's honestly not much to brag about. Hasn't been the same since he had the procedure," she said sweetly, pantomiming a pair of scissors. "But he actually knows how to bark many different songs, one of which is the happy birthday tune."

"Dogs can do that?" Alex asked, seeming almost in awe. "Hey hey, show me some cool stuff and Ill owe you one."

Erik let out a quiet whine looking up at London before sitting down.

London nodded to Alex and then knelt down beside Erik, gently putting her hand on top of his head. "There there, little guy. There's no need to be frightened or shy. Think about it. All you have to do is be brave and bark one little song and this nice...big...strong...FAMOUS fighter will owe us a favor. You want that, don't you?" As London spoke, she slowly increased the pressure on Eriks head. It was clear she didn't really care about the favor. "Now boy....sing me a song."

Erik looked up at London then over at Alex, almost seeming to sigh before finally giving in and, reluctantly, start barking 'Happy Birthday' to Alex. Afterwards, most of him just wanted to run away and hide in the corner - but the small bit of him knew it wasnt going to do him any good other than removing the small strand of dignity that he had left.

On the other hand however, Alex seemed almost starry-eyed at the performance. "So cool..." He said in awe before petting Erik's head again. "I never knew dogs could learn such tricks. You two must get along." He said before pulling out a small note pad as he wrote a number down in. He tore off the slip and handed it over to London. "If you need anything, call me and Ill see if I can help." He smiled before looking back at Erik. "Man, you are lucky to have a companion like him. Im sure he will stay by your side throughout his life. Meanwhile I have this guy who doesnt even care about my injured shoulder." Alex said, pointing over his shoulder to Jin.

Jin had completely taken his attention off of Alex and was currently sitting against a nearby building, seemingly taking a nap. London smiled as she took the number and then looked down at Erik for a second. "Ya he's alright. Can't find a more dependable companion. Which reminds me that we should probably get going, right boy?"
