Something which occurred to me while going over OUaT clips in preparation for Season 3 (can't wait!) was how fantastic the دکھائیں has been in displaying all sorts of different relationships. This is where the tension between the people who ship different people comes from. All the most مقبول ships with Emma are very powerful, very compelling, very attractive story-lines. Going through them all:
Captain Swan: This is a classic story of love redeems all. It's a very powerful thought - that your love for someone can help them and maybe even fix them. The idea that Hook's feelings for Emma can inspire him to put aside a vendetta that has driven him for the past three centuries is very appealing to some people. Especially when آپ consider that his quest was driven سے طرف کی his very powerful love for another woman. If he puts aside his desire for revenge for you, then he's choosing you. He's putting آپ and your happiness above his گزشتہ girlfriend who he was exceptionally devoted to. It means he loves آپ the most and, like I کہا before, that's a very powerful thought. Lastly there's the concept that a man can break down your walls; that with him there's no need to worry about being hurt یا abandoned; that he can see how badly you've been hurt and how broken آپ are when no-one else can. When people ship Captain Swan, this is what they see.
SwanFire: I'm not a SwanFire shipper so it's مزید difficult for me to see the nuances to their relationship but the story-line is not without a very attractive message. What I'd imagine draws people to the idea of SwanFire is the long gap between them meeting. That after ten years being apart, and after one of them supposedly moving on, they can still have feelings for each other. The notion that آپ can affect someone so deeply that even after ten years they still think of you. That even when they're with another they can't quash their feelings for you. When people ship SwanFire this is what appeals to them.
Swan Queen: سوان, ہنس Queen is easy, there's the obvious LGBT reason behind it, but there's also the fact that on the surface they can't stand one another. Regina and Emma were at loggerheads for most of the دکھائیں so far, the idea that they're in love is, again, very attractive. To think that even if آپ fight and آپ scream at one another, if you're in love you'll always pull through. Regina has done some horrific things and to think that despite all the terrible things someone can still love her is powerful. It's a case of "there is nothing آپ can do to stop me loving you" and "no matter how terrible the things آپ do آپ are always worthy in my eyes of love and forgiveness". This is why people ship سوان, ہنس Queen.
So آپ see, no matter how much آپ get behind one ship there's always going to be someone who doesn't see it یا doesn't find it attractive یا doesn't see the chemistry. Depending on what you, personally, find attractive you're going to find different ships appealing. So lastly, please don't say to someone that they're wrong یا their ship doesn't have chemistry because آپ are essentially telling them that their personal preferences/ experiences/ whatever are not real. They may not be real for آپ but they are for them. So that's not cool.
