I think Mr. Gold has more to do with that then Regina did actually.

I think the reason Regina took Henry in is because killing her father for the curse left that void inside her [as said by Maleficent], and in order to make up for his loss, she adopted the boy and named him Henry, subconsciously or unconsciously, after her dead father. Just a theory.. :)

If she only took him in because he's Snow and Charming's grandson, that means she knows who Emma is (Snow and Charming's daughter) and what she can do. And I think she'd be trying a lot harder to get Emma out of Storybrook if that was the case. This is the woman who killer her own father to get what she wanted -- I can't see her being hesitant to kill the only woman with the power to reverse all that.

I think Rumbelstiltskin had more to do with it than she did. I think she was trying to fill that whole in her that was magnified by the curse and the killing of her father. I don't think she will be able to fill it though.

It's Mr Gold who find the kid so no I'm pretty sure she didn't know he was Snow White and Prince Charming's grandson.

i think ... henry needed to go somewhere...and she was only chance ( for producer of this series) and.. it could be that in original fairytale snowhite had a stepmom and here her granson have one... or maybe it`s just a coincidance : )

I don't believe she had any knowledge of who 'Henry' was. Rumple set up the adoption and found 'Henry', I do believe HE knew that Henry was Emma's son, the daughter of Snow and Charming.

No because in episode two, "the thing you love most" she was talking with Mr. Gold about Henry and she said; "Did you want her to come to town? You wanted all of this to happen didn't you? Your finding Henry wasn't an accident was it?" and after seeing episode 17, "Welcome to Storybrooke", I think she took Henry in as a replacement for Owen. :/ She has her love for little kids... (and she probably would have had some of her own if she wouldn't have gone evil)... :/

Not to mention all of season 2 is about her trying to get his love.

I agree with everyone here, Regina would not have wanted Emma's child because he would have been a reason for the savior (his mother) to come and break the curse. She didn't want it broken, Gold did. I'm still not sure how though, because at this stage Gold had no memories of Rumplestiltskin as well as the fact that no outsiders can see Storybrooke. No-one comes in, no-one goes out.

Regina wanted a child because she wanted someone to love her and she wanted something to break the monotony of living the same day over and over. Owen showed her how something different can make life interesting as well as someone who doesn't always do as she says and she attributed this to Owen being a child.

when I first watched this show during season 1 I would have answered it as "no, she doesn't love him" because we didn't see many scenes with Henry & Regina and every scene they were in in the beginning it would seem that she is a total twit to him. But obviously we now know she loves him more then anything else in life. <3
