I'm sure it wasn't fun for Brooke to hear those words... but at the same time, we have to remember that when that was said, like 5+ years had already passed, since Brookes relationship with Lucas. so I'm sure Brooke had come to terms with their past by that time. Plus, it wasn't anything that she didn't already know herself. Hense the comment to Peyton in season 3 regarding the school shooting:

"the boy I love rescued the girl I love, and it's the girl he loves too. Come on Peyton, we both know it's true"

not to mention numerous other quotes and moments when Brooke acknowledged lucas' feelings for Peyton throughout high school

I think it is awkward... excludind the fact about how she kneww he loved peyton or watever, it would be akward for your ex to be marrying your bestfriend... even i would feel awkward...

By that time Brooke had already made it perfectly clear that she knew Leyton being together was "the way it is supposed to be", everyone had by far gotten over all of the awkwardness by then. At that point Brooke was focused on her relationship issues with a different guy (Julian)

That had to hurt at least a little bit... butttt I'm pretty sure she had accepted that fact, 'cause just like kellyerin87 said it wasn't anything she hadn't already known! :P

I thought "Oh no, here's Mark trying too hard to make Leyton look epic, again. Fail."

And don't get me started on the "Angel" comment.

when Haley eas talking about it (at the wedding) Brooke was already in love with Julian and way too focus on him. She was completely over the BLP drama and she always knew that Lucas loved Peyton even when brucas was together!!

I don't think Brooke's life was that miserable to be pining over Lucas at that time. LOL! I mean..it must be a little weird but I'd find it funny tbh.
I can't get into Brooke's mind but i think she was just happy for her best friend.

it is true that by this point on the show brooke was saying she really wanted lucas and peyton to be together. also, saying that lucas loved peyton throughout high school does not mean he was not in love with brooke when he was dating brooke.

part of the incredible thing about brooke is she is so selfless and barely ever thinks of her own needs and desires before others... so while during lucas and peyton's entire wedding ceremony you can tell that she was thinking only of lucas and peyton...not about her and not about her and lucas's past relationship. even when brooke was freaking out about julian bringing missy- she stopped talking about it and her mood completely changed as soon as peyton started walking down the aisle. i really do not think brooke would be thinking of herself during her best friend's wedding...even if it was a wedding to her first boyfriend and first love.

^ good point... I'm sure it did have something to do with Brooke being selfless, but I also think it wasn't awkward for her, because she was honestly just over all of that, and over Lucas by then. Even if she wasn't selfless, I still don't think it would have been an issue, after seeing how far the 3 of them had come since all the triangle crap lol. They all probably just saw it as petty high school drama by then

I think Mark should've re-watched season 2-3 and erase that quote. SO stupid. Lucas loved Brooke no matter what the heck was going on with Peyton. He had a thing for saving her because Mark had this Leyton thing in his head and din't care if he stepped on Brucas and all the love and promises they made to each other. Blah.

Poor Brooke...they erased a big relationship for her, one that yes, made her suffer but also made her known love so people acting like you didn't exist..that's horrible but that's Mark for you.

^^^I agree...no one can erase that Brucas were in love with each other. Yes, Lucas in the end is with Peyton, but you can't deny the fact that he was at a point in his life in love with Brooke Davis.

I do think it was somewhat awkward for Brooke to hear, but luckily by that time she was with Julian. Most of her attention was focusing on him. It was an insult to the fans though. Love you Mark, but why time after time do you discredit Brucas to build Leyton up?

Sorry, but not really. It was their wedding and Brooke had said all those things about them being meant for each other and how he wrote a whole book about how much he loves her etc. She knew it was always Peyton and was always gonna be Peyton. It may not of been great to hear, but she had to kind of expect it considering it was their wedding.

I really love Mark, but he was really good at ignoring Brucas. You can also love Peyton and still remember the Brucas relationship. I just think he wanted to make the moment more great, special and he didn't even think about hurting the Brucas fans. But he did, because although we all know the Leyton fans will deny it, Brucas was true love and they will always love each other in a way. I'm not saying that they still are IN love together, but more they love each other, even as if it's as friends. Sure, Mark wanted Leyton to be together from the beginning, but every story had different sides.
I, for example, think that Brucas was true love.

I believe it was a little awkward for Brooke. but it was also obvious Lucas loved Peyton from episode 1. He certainly loved Brooke at some point, but his love for Peyton was always there. It was clear & Brooke knew, hence all the insecurities & paranoia IMO. Brooke always felt #2 for Lucas. He never let her in or need her the way she wanted because that place was Peyton's.
It's the same with Jeyton. Peyton was ALWAYS in love with Lucas but at some point she loved Jake. Does this mean she forgot about Lucas or stopped loving him? No.
