\'s sixth season splurged on to Netflix yesterday (July 27), so if you\'re reading this you\'ve probably already binged the whole thing or are just having a quick between-episode break.

(Don\'t worry either way, as this here article is pretty spoiler-free).

Anyway, if you\'re enjoying it more than season five, you wouldn\'t be the only person.

Showrunner Jenji Kohan has already admitted that some of the writing on season five was lacking, and now Dayanara actor Dascha Polanco has agreed.

"I have to agree with the boss, honey! Whatever she says, goes," she told

"Honestly, I think that there were topics that they should have covered more. I do my job for the character, for Dayanara, but it would have been nice to see a lot of what she was really going through be touched on."

She teased that the current season deals a lot more with what\'s going on in the real world right now.

"I\'m glad that in season six we\'re able to talk about current events," Dascha said.

"The show is not a political, news-based show, but it has a lot of political notes because we\'re talking about incarceration, we\'re in the prison system, and it directly affects us.

"So yes, it\'s important, but you need to also see what women experience in there. How important mental health is, post-partum depression with Dayanara and why she decided to resolve to substance abuse and why she decided to use that as an escape, especially when you\'re carrying such a guilty load and you have nothing else and you feel helpless and you have no self-worth.

"I\'m glad that we are back on track and that we\'re doing what

is known for, and that\'s to keep the audience on its toes, educate them and entertain them."
