Is this something to be proud of, یا ashame of?

آپ did the right thing! I barely have any دوستوں either, but I would rather have NO دوستوں than some stuck up, snot-nosed brats who think it's cool to degrade others. Hey, I'm a freshman and I love PoM! I'm a kid at دل and always will be. آپ are آپ and no one can change that. It's OK to be different. In fact, different is better than normal! The people who don't fit in at school are the ones who end up BECOMING SOMETHING GREAT. And the مقبول people...? Well, where does "Popularity" get آپ in life? NOWHERE. What kind of job does degrading people and hurting them get you? NO JOB. Sometimes "Sticking out like a sore thumb" is a good thing. It's better than being a carbon copy of everyone else. It's the people with imagination and creativity, the quiet, shy ones, the "Different" ones... That MAKE SOMETHING OUT OF THEIR LIVES.

I'm not really sure... but people at school call me پینگوئن, پیںگان freak and i'm proud of it (mainly cause it's a better than "the insane freak who has a crush on a cartoon")

I'd be proud! ^^ I'm a loner, and an all PoM fan! It's 10 times better than my 'nickname'...

Don't be ashamed! Be proud of your obsession! Anyone who would judge someone because of a tv دکھائیں that they like is a jerk, یا just plain stupid. And, people should look up to آپ for being bold enough to say that آپ like PoM! That takes a lot of guts. Guts that I KNOW that the people who made fun of آپ don't have. آپ stand tall, Metallica!

I don't really mind(or like!) people like that. So I say to myself in my head that I'm dealing with hopeless idiots (Which would most likely end up in the streets and I walk سے طرف کی laughing at them. MWAHAHAAAA! TAKE THAT!).

I say آپ wear it with pride. Your school sounds tough. (One reason I'm glad I am in a christian school, cussing and being a huge jerk can get آپ kicked out ) I think, maybe, if آپ can be yourself and stand up to them سے طرف کی being proud of what and who آپ are and what آپ like, آپ can be a beacon of hope to others. Some obsessive SB پرستار may be afraid, a سٹار, ستارہ wars geek, the girl who is stuck in her own shell because she is afraid to talk to people, can see آپ and be inspired یا at least know someone like them is out there.Maybe nothing will happen, but at least آپ will be able to look back years from now and say
"Hey, I pulled through those messed up and confusing years, and was okay with myself."
So yeah, that's my two cents.

آپ should be proud of it!:D At least it doesn't have any cuss words in it, and it has POM! And being a loner isn't as bad as they're making it sound -.- So yeah be proud! Some kids at my school call me the IZ freak, and I like it! So yeah ^^

i feel the same about the only kid at school watching it. i would be proud of being called that. being a loner makes آپ unique. ارے i get called a nerd at school, and im proud of it because, its usally the kids who are failing the semester who call me that.
its to bad a lot of us who watch the دکھائیں and go on this spot live in different states it would of been cool to talk to someone in school who loves the دکھائیں and play out episodes with them.

I'm what آپ call 'popualar', and I don't get made fun of for it. some of my humorous preppy girl دوستوں like it also, and we talk about it from time to time. no one cares. probably because we also talk about مزید adult shows.
I say آپ should ignore them. share your love loud and proud. too bad آپ don't go to my school. if آپ love a cartoon here, we'll love you. xD we love loners! You're not alone... at least, digitally you're not. I'm sure that once آپ get out of high school (this goes for all of us here on POM Fanpop!), it'll get a little better socially.

No, it is NOT something to be ashamed of! آپ have an opinion of something, and people should respect that! (I know this is not about me, but people made fun of me for like AVatar the Last Airbender in 8th and half of 9th grade, so you're not alone. But that showed me what kinds of people I should hang out with. If they laughed, screw them.)
Anyway, I hate the "young adult" thing, too, Icicle. Being fifteen makes it even harder, since I'm turning 16 in January. I don't mention POM, EXCEPT to my closest friends. For those who don't have many friends, then, for one, آپ have us! :)
Also, there are other things I'm sure آپ like aside from POM. Just ignore the jerks who are mean to آپ and then they'll leave آپ be.

No way theres no reason to be ashamed at all!I think those idiots are the ones who should be ashamed.I mean seriously there the ones who have no lifes and have nothing better to do then just make fun of others.They say bullies only bully people because they are insecure about themselves therefore they try to make others feel bad because they feel bad about themselves.They are just trying to bring آپ down,but dont let them do that.So what if آپ like POM...I mean seriously theres nothing wrong with that at all its a great show!I know what آپ are going through though,school can be very difficult at times but we just have to learn how to keep our heads up and just ignore whatever they say to you.Evetualy they will just stop and get bored and leave آپ alone.

My suggestion: Use discretion, but embrace it as long as it isn't going to cause آپ further troubles. In many situations, embracing a label can turn its meaning away from the negativity desired سے طرف کی those who imposed it, and leave آپ as the ultimate victor. But if embracing the label is likely to only increase the ferocity of the attacks against you, it may be best to just ignore the label and hope for it to fade away in due time.

Hopefully I haven't been too confusing in my opinion, but to put things in simpler words anyway: Only آپ can ultimately determine if it is appropriate to embrace the label یا not. All of us here wish آپ well, but we are not in your situation to be able to understand it firsthand. Hopefully, however, things will begin to look brighter for آپ soon.

It's NOTHING to be ashamed of. I think آپ should solve your problem سے طرف کی not eating in the cafeteria یا inviting yourself to sit with some nice people so they won't call آپ that anymore.

...Dude, that'd be a term of endearment for me! Embrace it and smile when they call آپ that! You're just like me; I'm pretty much a loner and prefer to sit سے طرف کی myself, mostly because I can't stand people and the way they act lately (your problem is a good example of why) And most people, unfortunately, mistake my loner mentality for me thinking that I'm too good to sit with other people, یا I'm some creepy emo kid who does creepy things. They're afraid of that, so I guess their way of handling it is ridiculing me. And you, in your situation. I think آپ should be proud of your new name, cause it makes آپ different than them. And I don't think you're the only one who likes PoM in your school, they're probably just really low-key about it, like my few دوستوں were before I brought PoM up one day.
...Anyway, at the very least, you're not alone, just look at everyone else here, we've all had our problems with loving PoM publicly. I always say, when people call me a nerd for PoM, "I prefer fanatic یا enthusiast, and if appreciating some real entertainment that's worth wasting my time at ہوم on a Saturday morning makes me a nerd, so be it." People are just ignorant, and آپ should relish in the fact that آپ are so much smarter than they will ever be, and take "The PoM loner" in stride. ^^

I don't get bullies. I got bullied a lot in elementary and middle school-even last سال as a freshman! But the thing is, the people in the world who treat people like those kids are treating آپ won't have a good future-I'm certain. They probably don't have a good life as it is if they act like jerks to anyone. *sighs* I'll never understand bullying.

So, no, being known as a PoM Loner isn't anything to be ashamed of. But I'm not a good example-I'm terrifed to let people know of my secret love for POM. People at my school are probably worse than yours (i.e. A student at my school tackled the vice principal in our school just today! O.O). But IF I was مزید confident, I would spread my POM love with great pride! If someone called me that, I'd thank them. If they laughed whenever I droned on about the show, I'd say, "Well, آپ guys are missing out on a lot. Trust me." Eventually, آپ someday may get people to like the show-or at least try it as a start.

Don't worry dude, I can feel where your coming from (well minus the cussing and stuff.) I barely know anybody at my new school, and the only people I really talk to are the girls in my chorus, and a girl I used to know from elementary school who took me into her group at lunch. Also Im like, the only 8th grader that watches POM, and I get nerveous when they all say its a 'baby show.' Really what im trying to say is that آپ should never be ashamed of who آپ are, because there are others just like آپ going through the same things every day. I always been a loner, and I'm proud of it. There's nothing to be ashamed of. Most people don't understand what being a loner really means, it is our way to have peace of mind, and reflect ourselves. I am proud that I'm a POM پرستار and not a پرستار of any boring staffs.

It's okay, I'm a loner, too. :) Just try to keep quiet and keep a low پروفائل at school, that's what I do. My binder is filled with P.O.M. stickers and random doodles of penguins and stuff like that, but I NEVER talk about it at school. آپ can be proud, but just be proud... quietly. X) The media advises differences and personality are good, and that they should be expressed. But honestly, it's not and shouldn't be. <:/ (Unless on fanpop, yeah, here, go wild! :P )
As for the kids who call آپ names... sticks and stones may brake my bones, but words will never hurt me. I get called giant all the time(by one kid I "accidentally" ran over one time >:P ) and loser, but I don't acknowledge them. I suggest آپ do the same when they call آپ loner.
The way to not get bullied is to be unpopular. I go to a Californian school like you, so I kind of know what you're dealing with.
Another way not to get bullied is to smile to everyone and act kindly. (Or, maybe that will only work with girls. :P)

It's good to be proud of being a پرستار of POM and you're not the only one who spends their time alone. For a long time now, I've spent time سے طرف کی myself. If they call آپ a loner again, maybe point out that it's good for a person to keep in touch with themselves. There's one thing I've learned and that's that the only person that truely understands آپ is yourself

I think thye just don't realy know who آپ realy are but I know آپ are better than they are. justbe yourself and you'll fins real friends, rare friends. In this club, we're all دوستوں here because of our mutuality which is our talents, love, passion and being ourselves. I also was this before and now I found true دوستوں right here in fanpop. (some are in school)

Don't worry, I've been treated like that too! I think آپ should be proud! THey're missing out on a lot if they don't like POM! آپ should tell them that آپ are proud to be a POM پرستار and I'm sure school will get better. It did for me! I used to dread school, now I LOVE to ahng out with my new friends. And they don't have to like POM (most of my دوستوں don't), but آپ shouldn't change who آپ are یا something else. Good luck! In my school there are only 2 POM fan. But they are only like the show.They don't dream about it! To sum up they aren't fanguins like me. But I proud of Pom!!! It is better than Spongebob یا any silly shows in Nick. I have many posters of POM in my room. My دوستوں insults me sometimes but it isn't important. I am crazy about POM! DON'T ASHAME OF POM!

آپ should be proud of liking PoM. It's the best show. Just because other people don't like it, doesn't mean آپ shouldn't. People are people and that's who we are. Just remember, even if people at your school don't like PoM, you've always got this website. You're not alone here, PoM is an obsession and lots of people have that obsession. Don't be ashamed, hold your head high and say, "I LOVE POM!!" آپ know why? BECAUSE POM IS AWESOME!!!
