Talk to him. for sure. What if it's not true? If آپ really like him, it would be a big mistake.

But if he's not that important to آپ anyway, just dump him. It's a good as excuse as any to get rid of him sooner.

Just remember, whatever choice آپ make, could effect your ENTIRE life. Just sayin'.

Though there's always a chance that he really did, got shot down, and will lie to آپ about it... I say ask him then go with your gut feeling. ^^;
