SRitchieable Thanks for these! Its sentiments like this that makes Holmes THE CLASSIC DETECTIVE - he has his eccentricities and says he "does not encourage company" but he has a PASSION FOR JUSTICE, and a concern for others, that make him shine.

SRitchieable I know Holmes didn't particularly care for poetry, but he might have liked this extract from P.B Shelley: Fear not, by gaze - for freemen mightier grow, And slaves more feeble, gazing on their foe: - If Hope and Truth, and Justice may avail, Thou shalt be great - All hail!
