Hugh Laurie would be a perfect Holmes

Well, Mr. Brett having been so inconsiderate as to die, I suppose someone has to take up the chalenge.I don't know who Robert Downey Jr. is (Who was Robert Downey Sr. for that matter?) Hugh Laurie seems to have the drug addicted genius down but I'm not sure about the look and the accent.

Hugh Laurie can pull off a brittish accent because he is brittish!!

I must be used to exagerated accents on shows like Buffy. Even those guys on BBC America sound less Bitish.

When I think about Sherlock Holmes I inmediately see on my mind Jeremy's face, so it's quite difficult to me think in another actor playing the same role...

I think that no one can play Sherlock, but it doesn't matter..
And Hugh is always Dr.House for me..

Hugh Laurie... lol, with him being based on Holmes and all. Robert Downey Jr. was absolutely terrible in the new movie, especially compared to Jeremy.

The idea of Hugh Laurie playing Holmes just makes me laugh and shake my head... I suppose he's a decent enough actor to pull it off; after all, I've been proven wrong before (I went into the new Holmes movie expecting RDJ to blow to smithereens the character I've known and loved for so long, when in truth, I ended up shocked at what a fantastic job he did). But I think there would be many other actors who would come to my mind who would be more ideal for portraying Holmes before Mr. Laurie would ever be a candidate. Oh well. We may never know if he could play a decent Holmes or not. And that's ok with me. :P

Hugh Laurie could do, but i simply loved Robert... dunno why (perhaps it was the company in the cinema XD)

Robert was fantasic!

I think he was awesome. It was a little diffrent look at the stories. I have to admint 2009 movie is the reason why I readed the books.

I actually doubt that i will ever be satisfied with any actor. I didn't even read the books when that movie came out, but even then i was like, "Is that supposed to Sherlock Holmes?"
But because i've read the books, i think my mind will always find some reason to be dissatisfied with the film adaptions. Though i have to admit that i think Mr. Brett did a good job.
