I don't think he should be handed a boyfriend next season, like some fans apparently do. I have a lot of feels about all the queer readings of Stranger Things that I don't have the time or energy to detail.

Definitely this! I don't get how people are so quick and desperate to insist that he is gay.

I'm picking this because that was the first thought that came to mind after Mike said that and seeing the look on Will's face. BUT I also think it's just that he wants to stay a kid and play D&D.

I also don't want them to just shove him in the arms of a boy next season, that would be just out of character. He just wants to play D&D dammit!

This is the closest to what I thought. When I saw that scene I thought "Well, he´s been terrorized by the Upside Down, the Demogorgon and the Mind Flayer in two years, he just wants to spend the summer in peace with his friends like he did before everything started". I still think that and that he isn't ready to give up on his childhood.

I think I read somewhere that even the actor was saying he just wasn't ready to date girls yet. It's never been clear if he was gay or not, we only just had bullies and his dad calling him gay slurs. If he is given a boyfriend next season I hope it won't be rushed or out of nowhere just so the fans who want him to be gay can be happy

^I do believe he might be asexual but there's also the fact that he was traumatised by what happened to him so to me, it's probably a mix of those two answers. The way Mike said the line about Will not liking girls, kinda makes it feel like that even before the series, Will never showed an interest on girls.

Just putting this out there: Will is described as having "sexual identity issues" in the link AND as having stared longingly at Mike in the link for 2x09. To quote, "Will with the Cute Girl, dancing awkwardly. But his eyes aren't on the cute girl. They are on Mike." Admittedly they dropped this from the final production, but it was there and clearly was something the Duffers were considering including.

I have no horse in this race and don't care whether he's gay or not, and very well think Mike's comment could've been about Will's childhood, but I'm not here for the tone of some of these comments. "Quick and desperate to insist he's gay." Rme. There's plenty of evidence to suggest speculation.
