i'm sure of it..remember that Lucifer was the most beautiful, most favored, most powerful of all the angels and a full third of the host of heaven followed him into rebellion..a third! that's a lot, don't you think?

I certainly think it's a possibility that Uriel's superiors want Lucifer freed, but I'm not sure of it. They did tell them to stop looking for the angel killer- or at least, that's what Uriel told Cas. But those that followed Lucifer fell too didn't they? So they wouldn't still be angels- although there could still be quite a few who didn't support him at the time and came to regret it. I think Uriel's main motivation for helping free Lucifer is the destruction of the human race- he obviously is jealous of and hates humans. So I think Lucifer's freedom is secondary to that to at least some of the subversive angels.
