COOKIE CUTTING ENDING - Hard boiled stuff going on and than it ends happy, For example: Dean and Sam getting married and living happily ever after.
COP OUT ENDING- watch the whole thing and think one thing's going on and than it ends in the most stupid way. Example: Dean and Sam waking up and everything was a dream. Another example: If you have seen the show LOST or know about the show. The way it ended would be a cop out.

Just staying that would be dumb. I would love for them to sit on the impala and say they have work to do. NOT THEM DYING, NOT THEM GETTING MARRIED AND GETTING OUT THE HUNTING BUSINESS AND LIVING HAPPILY EVER AFTER(Because how pointless would the Jessica/Lisa storyline be than?)

this is how i feel about the ending to season 5. if you subtract the last 5 seconds from it, that's the way the show should have ended, none of this Sam being resurrected stuff.

It would depends on how they did it. I don't consider the ending of season five to be a 'cookie-cutter' or 'cop-out' ending, and I think that would have been a perfect way to end the series.

Cookie-cutter and cop-out endings ruin any show, especially one like Supernatural.

I don't think the end of season 5 was really cookie-cutter - it was too obvious that Dean was cut up about Sam and was only doing this to respect his final wishes. But a real ending of both of them quitting hunting, being happily married with kids and never even thinking of returning to hunting would be too cheesy and too Charmed-like.

I think I've explained my opinion on an "it was all a dream" on that poll.
