Homer is the greatest! He's like a big kid. He once jumped through the window and yelled, "Who wants lottery tickets?" He randomly gives his children thousands of dollars if they ask for it.

Jack Bristow rocks my socks! Even though he isn't the most emotionally-deep father he kicks butt and is über smart! he's one of the few characters that rocked till the bitter end.

I was raised in a bit of a dark humor/dysfunctional enviroment so I'd have to choose someone who wasn't exactly popular in the "#1 fathers" department.
Both Al and Dan fit that category for me. Al is not the most kindhearted guy, but when it comes down to it he really loves his children and he especially doesn't want his little girl to get hurt. Dan is more obvious at showing affection for his family but he's still not overly-lovey that it's a turnoff, if you get what I mean. So it'd either be Dan or Al for me.
If I felt like adding my own option, I'd pick Michael Bluth from Arrested Development.

Jack Bauer! Best TV character ever! That would be amazing!

He was such a lovely supportive father who loved his daughters and did everything he could to be there for them. One of the best written.

I can't believe I even clicked on Danny as I find him to be annoying but as a father, I think he does it right. He's tough but not rough with his daughters. He's a single working father of 3 girls, that has to be tough. Since I am an adult myself, I have watched Danny Tanner on Full House and I realized I wanted my own dad to be like him. Danny made sure his daughters, well the older ones got good grades. He made sure they did their homework, if they had a problem they could go to him. If they did something they shouldn't do, he would ground them, he would say the word NO if he didn't like what they wanted to do. My father wasn't like that, I wish he had been. Maybe not the uptight part. But Danny's kids grew up right.
